Answers:

A lack of motivation could be a symptom of depression, low self-esteem, or perfectionism. If you think you have "a lot of talent[s] and skills" why aren't you using them?

Most people are afraid to fail, but you may be so afraid that it deters you from even trying at all.

May be the reason you have a lack of motivation in getting to the "heavy legal things" is because you don't enjoy it. It is easier to postpone something you don't like- think of the laundry.

You must have heard stories of people getting divorced after years of marriage because one day they woke up and decided to pull the plugs on something they've been dragging for decades. Some people ask why did it take them so long to end something they knew it made them so unhappy, but many of us wait for the motivation or courage to stop the unhappiness in our lives.

Your lack of motivation could be that you're trying to sabotage yourself because deep inside you think you don't deserve to be happy and fulfill your full potential.

Do you have women role-models in your family who are accomplished? Is your mother happy? Does she enjoy her job? I'm asking because children learn by example, not by words. For instance, if your mother never acted happy in front of you, or always had a low self esteem, then this is what you'd be most used to and more likely to copy. Unless you make a conscious effort to avoid following this pattern.

May be you're feeling out of control. Thus, once you start acting on the things you could be doing if you were not lacking motivation, then you may regain the snoozing motivation in you

Finally, unless you're clinically depressed (for this you'd need medical help), you're steps away from taking reign of your life-if this is what you want. With or without motivation, you're still the person deciding the course of your life.

Best wishes!
