I am unemployed at a field i am an expert in, because i am a woman.how do i figh!

Question:

I am unemployed at a field i am an expert in, because i am a woman.how do i fight depression?

the unfairness of the situation ,the fact that i waisted most of my twenties studying to be this good at my work and the fact that i have litterally tried anything in moral terms to fight unemployment without success makes me almost suicidal. therapists cant help me . what else there is to do? and dont tell me to change work, which would mean to throw away 15 years of my life and my dream. how can i fight this feeling before it kills me?

What are you looking for in an answer, exactly?

You've said your employment in your current field is not viable, yet you do not want advise regarding a career change. You say that you are suicidally depressed, but you do not want to be avised to seek apporpriate medical treatment (i.e., medication and psychotherapy).

This certainly ties the hands of those who would answer, because those are the most appropriate peices of advice you will receive.

Bitterness about your job situation isn't going to help you. You've got what you've got. If you've invested 15 years of your life in training for your dream, and that dream isn't going to come to fruition, then you need to quit stagnating.

This doesn't mean that you must give up your dream, but it does mean that you need to face reality and change course appropriately. It also does not mean that you have "thrown away 15 years of your life". It simply means that you've assessed your current situation, found it not viable at this particular time, and chose to move in another direction. If you continue to look at your vocational situation in these "black and white" terms, you will continue to stagnate, and your depression will deepen.

When you are depressed to the point of suicidal ideation, no amount of "natural cures" or self-help nonsense is going to cure you. You need solid psychotherapy and anti-depressant medication. Period.
