My wallet has been stolen ( my fault...I left it in a place I shouldn't have), a!

Question:

My wallet has been stolen ( my fault...I left it in a place I shouldn't have), and I'm having a hard time...

I'm very upset with myself and am having trouble with that.
Yes, I've just called all my plastice card companies to cancel them.

Mostly I'm upset that I've lost all my ID, some of it quite old that I've been able to keep for sentamental reasons. Pictures, friends and new friends business cards, little notes ect....all of that is driving me crazy... I don't care about the small amount of cash (less than $20.00).... I'm also worried about Identity theft... I have several important ID's with my SS# on it.

I can't stop being mad at myself for leaving my wallent in the open...Arggghhhh

If you've been thru a similar experience, how did you get over it, AND is there any advise for securing your identity??

Thanks

I'm sorry you have to go through this. It happens to the best of people by the worst of people. Recently, I learned that we should make copies of everything in our wallets, front and back. This insures that you have all the info you need to cancel credit cards, etc. You probably feel like your privacy has been invaded. Whoever took it probably just wanted the money. You may get the rest back. Good luck. Keep an eye on your credit report to see if there is any unusual activity.
