they would be less lucid. i worked in a geriatric ward for the elderly, and the reason they were put on medications because they were not lucid at all, were suffering, and could barely function, with no enjoyment of their last years on earth. a lot of people were admitted from nursing homes, due to the fact they could not manage in a nursing home, and were sent to the hospital i worked in for assessments. most, once their medications were assessed, returned in much better shape then when they were admitted. a good question. i should also say some were over medicated,and we would have to start over to get them to function at their highest level with the least amount of medication. hope this helps
