My mother has unidentified mental condition?

my mother was physically abusive abusive. in her 60s she slapped a niece she was babysitting so she never learned hitting is wrong.she used to do work in the basement and would make these funny sounds while she was down there. i came down there 1 day and i saw her face it was Scary. it was lie a mask of rage she was making these loud grunting sounds mixed with talking.its as if she was working herself into a frenzy she did the maybe hundreds of times not jjust once in a while .i want to know condition this is a manifestation of or at least some idea shes caused a lot of problems for me please help and thanks
