Well, I hate to tell you, but you'll have to put up with them for a bit. It is part of puberty, and for some reason not all guys go through it. I did, my brother didn't.

Give it time, they will go away on their own.

At your age all sorts of weird stuff is going on hormonally. What you are describing sounds like a very mild case of gynecomastia. It isn't unusual for young men around your age and it most often resolves itself by the time you reach your late teens.

Exercise, weight loss, and the like will probably be of no help because you are already at a healthy (and thin) weight.

If it doesn't go away, you can have liposuction performed in those areas. It's pretty expensive though, several thousand dollars, and insurance very rarely covers it.

I'm sorry I don't have better news for you. It should resolve itself, but it will take some time.

In the meanwhile, keep exercising, eating right, and don't use drugs. Really. Marijuana and alcohol (especially beer) can make this condition worse. Stay away from any kind of hormonal dietary supplements like DHEA too, those can't help.

One last thought - this can sometimes be the side effect of some prescribed medications. Are you on any medications? If you are, talk to your doctor to see if it might be relevant, and if it is maybe he can switch you to a different medication.

What do you mean, "Puffy"..?

As in almost swolen? If they're just soft, that's normal. Temperature can make our nipples become hard or soft.

There's a name for it which i forgot, but its normal. During puberty, some things develop more than others but take their places by the time you end puberty. For example, some girls have one breast bigger than the other, some ppl have one foot longer than the other etc, but they all fall into place by the end of puberty. Don't try any drugs nor surgery. Thats only the VERY LAST resort.

The other answers were good, but take a look at your hair care products. Stay away from anything with tea tree oil. It actually has a compound in it that mimics estrogen. It's probably not a problem, but just in case.

my son is 17 and has had man boobs for several years, and his have never gone away and his pediatrician told him that if they havent went away yet, the only option would be surgery.

That's just oestrogen mucking up in your system. We have testosterone (the male growth hormone) in abundance and it increases dramatically during puberty. Your body tries to produce a hormone balance so it also increases your adrenal glands production of oestrogen (the female growth hormone).

Some of us, during puberty are particularly oestrogen sensitive and this leads to the effect you are describing. When you get a little older your hormones settle down a bit and the oestrogen lowers.. and that fatty tissue will dissapear on its own accord.

However some medications induce oestrogen production which increases yours fat levels and creates man boobs that I think require surgery for complete removal.

Therefore unless you are on medication, I'd say you needn't worry about it... your body will settle down in its own time... just keep doing what you are doing.
