Weight Lifting High?!
Question: I am trying to find "anti-drugs", so to speak. I have been working out with weights lately and have noticed that afterwards I feel something similar to a drug-induced high?
Is this just my imagination, or is it a direct result of lifting?

no just some people feel this when they start to lift it will go away the more you workout..try drinking muscle milk...im a trainer so if you have any more questions email me surfhottie09@yahooo.com
it is a direct result of being a meathead
its when ur bod. is ajusting to what you have started doing. nothing bad
yo mamma
when you work out your body releases endorphins, which give you that happy feeling. you're not imagining it. the same thing happens when you smile
its ur imagination dude
Adrenaline rush 100 % natural
Its called an endorphin rush. Lifting weights will do this as will any intensive excercise.
Keep it up!
its to do with you burning you arms to rebuild them stronger you will feel "high" for a while but you will get used to it.
FEEL THE BURN!!!
Well it is interesting that you perceive it that way. What in fact is happening is that your body is releasing dopamine as a result of the exercise. This is addictive.... which means that if you do enough exercise, you get depressed if you do not get your fix!... that means that if I miss training.. I get depressed.
Certain drugs also induce the release of dopamine.
When you lift, there are two things 1) the pumping of your muscles and at the same time the ephoria from the endomorophines released. Distancing running will give you a lot more of the endomorophines high. a lot of people in drug recovery programs like distance running for that reason and enjoy competing in ultra marathons
I get this high even just working out in general no matter what kind.
