Gaining weight and building muscle?!


Question: i am 20 years of age and I weigh 65kg/10.2 stones I am 5ft 11/173cm. My doctor says my Body Mass index is perfect but I am very skinny. My brother and other trainers at my local gym always say that I have the perfect body for toning up.I want to gain some weight and tone up to get some abs and a more well defined chest etc. Do you have any ideas on how I can start gaining weight and tone up.What are the best methods i.e. protein bars / supplements / groth hormones ???? with minimum or no side effects.

Get one thing straight. You are either maxing muscle mass, or you are toning. Pick one.

Either eat everything you can and some, lift heavy weights with low number of repetitions.

OR

Eat healthy, and lift lighter weights with a high number of repetitions.

Stay far away from growth hormones or anything of the kind. protein bars are alright. The best source is meat, milk, eggs, beans, brown rice, tofu. The natural way is the best way.

Basically, eat three hearty meals a day. Then have a protein shake in between consisting of things like flax seed oil, fresh fruit, raw eggs, protein powder and milk... Then go out for beer and burgers at the end of the day. :)
