Question for the guys out there?!

Question: My boyfriend (who is only 28) is having problems holding an erection lately. It's only been in the past 2 weeks that this happens..we'll be in the heat of the moment and things just go flat. He is able to get hard, but it doesn't last long. He's been sick with a head cold and fevers and he's been having problems with his throat for the past couple of weeks also. He gets frustrated because he can't perform properly and I feel like i'm to blame even though he says i'm not. I guess i'm wondering if his being sick would effect his ability to get hard or what other things might cause something like that?

The fact that he can still achieve an erection should tell you that he still finds you attractive. As far as not being able to hold on, it's always possible it's a medical condition such as erectile dysfuntion but it's more likely that he's sick or stressed out. Honestly, a chilly breeze can turn things off if you're not careful. Alcohol can do it, medications can as well and I'm sure he's taking something for his cold. Stress can be a real killer and as somebody above mentioned, once you have things go south once, regardless of why , you worry about it and nothing will kill it faster than worrying. Just be patient, try really hard not to be self-conscious, it's not you and if you assault him questions in that regard it will only make things worse.

Just have him take it easy for a week, sounds like he's under a lot of pressure. Just cuddle and have a good time so he can relax and doesn't think he has to "perform".
If the problem continues though, I would tell him to see a doctor, but it's probably just stress.
P.S. Look at our Avatars, we're almost twins! ;)

Being ill could contribute to his problem, also any type of medications that he might be taking, this includes over the counter meds...also, he might be taking care of himself too often when your not available, just a thought...Nevertheless, be kind to him, help him through his bought of illness and look sexy for him and I am sure "Willie" will perform again! Good Luck!

Sure, his illness could be a reason. There might be plenty others too.

Try not to hassle him. Everybody's been through that. Time will cure everything.

Definitely could be the fact that he is sick. HEadaches, sore throat, are all turnoffs. If he says it isn't you i would believe him. Im sure he will be back to normal once he is feeling better. And congradulations on the proposal :).

Ok, so this is the thing about the erections. As soon as you start thinking or getting frustrated about it, you loose it. Theres nothing you can do, except try not to worry about it (easier said than done) Once you both stop worrying, it'll be fine.

Meds can really jack up a guys performance, over the counter or DR prescribed it doesn't matter. Some types of med can kill it all together for a while so don't get all freaked until he's feeling back to normal. Pressure from not preforming once can lead to the samething again too so don't try so hard and he might get hard.

If he's sick with a fever, that could get in the way. If he's taking any kind of medication, especially "night-time" medication, that could cause problems too.

It's not you. It's not him. Just keep doing whatever feels nice, even if it's not as much as when he's healthy, and don't worry about what will or will not happen. (Worrying by itself is a leading cause of limp dicks.)

nope..being sick is a cop out. sorry sweetie, he just lost his attraction to you. Either that, or he is deathly ill... 28 yr old men don't get this issue, unless they have the actual body of a 80 yr old. Has he been smoking 6 or more packs a day for the last 12 yrs?
