protein. instead of just gaining weight he can buy protein powder, mixes, drinks, shakes and start working out more and that will get him more diesel instead of just fat....muscle milk is packed with protein and that will add weight.

feed him lots of starchy foods and protein. have him eat healthy fats, like avocados, peanut butter, and olive oil. if he eats 2500 calories a day, he'll gain one pound a week; add another 500 calories, and that'll be an extra pound gained. it's unhealthy to gain more than 2 pounds a week, so make sure he doesn't gain too fast. have him lift weights, too.

To get fat ingest a lot of carbohydrates and sit on your butt and do nothing. Example- Bagels, donuts, cereal, sugary sodas.

I think working out in the gym should help. Even I was very thin when I was in college. I started doing weights in the gym which kind of made me eat more and I put on weight in a healthy way

Plenty of unsalted nuts such as peanuts, almonds and cashews might help as they contain about 700 calories per 100 gm.
