Hi Nick,

The Bible which all followers of Jesus Christ are supposed to believe was inspired of God based on supernatural predictions, Jesus's life etc. Heck it's Christmas you know what I mean Shepherds being directed to the immaculate/supernatural birth of Christ by a Star etc, etc,. The Bible itself says that holy men of God recorded the Bible under inspiration of the Holy Spirit and spoke as they were given utterance by God's Spirit and not of their own utterance or interpretation, predictions, future knowledge of supernatural events etc.

Anyway in the book of Matthew Jesus Christ raised the bar on lust. Previously the ten commandments and the Old testament had regulations that prohibited adultery (coveting your neighbour's wife, not your own for God himself santifies and joins the union of marriage) as well as your responsibility if you seduced or raped a woman, virgin or otherwise to do the 'right' thing according to the Bible.

In the new testament Jesus said that "if a man looks at woman lustfully he has committed adultery in his heart". He went on to say that if your eye offends you before God you should pluck it out, very radical! However there were not men walking around with one eye back then and certainly not now. Jesus's radicalness is specifically for those who would take to heart his words and follow them (his disciples), there of course is God's judgement for anyone in the afterlife who sins without remorse and repentance (change) in this life, in other words anyone who throws Jesus's words behind their back or out the door, for the Bible also says that God Almighty creator of heaven and earth forms every man and woman in the womb so he rationalises that we are ultimately accountable to him for how we life our lives in this life and so show our desire for his eternal love and provision or damnation and destruction continually. Jesus also said that damnation in the raging unquencahable fires of hell was not intended by GOD for man but for a former chief angel who rebelled and caused rewbellion and war in heaven in opposition to GOD, the devil/dragon in the book of Revalation in the BIible. He persuaded one third of the heavenly host to follow him, [as it is today and worse; most people in this world do not follow GOD ALMIGHTY WHOLEHEARTEDLY] his angels, who also rebelled against their creator and tried to rage against GOD and unseat him from his throne in heaven. They were cast down to the earth (unsuccessful of course, for the Bible says "there is no wisdom, no insight , no plan that can succeed against the LORD) He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth and the people of the earth are like grasshoppers.

So yes it's just as bad to have perpetual, unchecked thoughts of lust as it is to look at women naked and enjoy it.

That why God says to get married and in the old days that's what they did even very young in order to honor the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.

NOW let me add the Bible goes on to say that SATAN the Devil has been cast down and he is off and running (livid and filled with rage) to deceive the nations, in fact the Bible says that he aim is to steal, kill and destroy and to LEAD the whole world astray from the good which is GOD alone. No man or woman is good in and of themselves for we sin on a regular basis. That why Jesus came to destroy the Devil's work and to redeem you, me and every one else by spilling his blood a supernatural and sinless man through being a sacrifice on a cross reserved exclusively for criminals beaten, and humiliated who suffering agony and in the end and wilfully giving up his life (he walked determinately to physical death) as an acceptable offering to GOD the Father and the HOLY Spirit. Why?

1. Because of his love for you and me and hatred of the DEVIL.

2. FOR the JOY set before him; he knew many would be saved. For GOD is patient with everyone the BIble says not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. He also knew he had lots more to regain in the afterlife and that his sepation from LOVE "GOD IS LOVE" on the cross would resume after he rose from the dead. DEATH could not keep him in the Ground, Death had no hold on him and the BIBLE records that several persons gave eyewitness testimony/confession to seeing the CHRIST alive after his death, either madness to some or a supernatural act, believe what you wish. The BIble goes on to say that the day is coming when 'every knee will bow (willingly of not) and every tongue confess (willingly or not) that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER.

To continue, When anyone becomes a Christian, God's supernatural power is available to enable that person to resist sin and overcome it not become perfect but regenerated in the heart and mind taking on God's mindset as revealed in the Bible.

Jesus also said that among those at the judgement who are condemned and forever lost, to perish tormented beyond measure and bearance will be two kinds of people:

1. Those that weep because they were unconvinced of Jesus's word and/or waited too long to believe Jesus and repent (turn from their sin) for whatever reason.

2. Those like the DEVIL or LUCIFER who will pay the terrible price of everlasting destruction of their lives in hell because they "REFUSED" to believe or repent, for whatever reason. These persons like the Devil Jesus said will; knash or grind their teeth against GOD, in anger and hatred even at the Judgement before they are cast in to the burning lake of fire which is eternal, where the fire is never quencehed and the 'worm' (whatever this is) never dies.

I say all this not only to answer your question but also as a Minister of the Gospel to persuade you to save your soul by taking what you know about Jesus, his teachings and salvation seriously. Please Get in a good Bible believing Church that teaches JESUS's truth exactly like the Bible teaches if you are not yet in one. As HE said in the book of John Chapter 8 verse 31 "To those ... who believed him JESUS SAID"... If you hold to MY teachings you are really my disciples, THEN you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free." These persons believed his teachings, believed that he was the MESSIAH, in fact the name JESUS means "THE LORD SAVES" and the name Christ Means THE MESSIAH Still he told the that to know the truth and be set free from sin they had to 'HOLD' to his teachings, hense I relate this hopefully to your situation.

So Nick, my friend, I hope and pray you'll move from simple curiousity of what is right and wrong before GOD (THE FATHER< THE SON < THE HOLY COMFORTER/SPIRIT) and unto keeping his words as best you can with his encouragement and strength.) Begin if you wish by reading the Gospels and praying for blessings and strength from God.

GOOD LUCK, SEASONS GREETINGS AND GOD BLESSINGS IN 2008 an beyond.

LOVE IN HIM (JESUS CHRIST)

I'm a Christian, and I have lustful thoughts all the time. Especially when I'm beating off. If a guy (str8) can look at a women and say they don't enjoy it, they need to go to confession for lying.
BTW - why are you posting this on men's health? Why do you only want a Christian's opinion? Why not ask your religious leader?

well... if you are young.. it's Ok..

Supposedly that is what the bible teaches. Lust is a sin, apparently according to some old guys who wrote the stuff. But all religion is manmade and so any rules are made up by some old guys centuries ago. Lots of stuff the ministers spout in church are not even in the bible.

You have just described lust, and then asked if it was worse than lust.

I can speak with all certainty here. No, it is not worse, it is the same thing.

The only exception to that would be to have lustful thoughts about a neighbor's wife. That would be a commandment you'd be breaking. Assuming that breaking a commandment is worse than mere generic sinning.

Some christian groups don't agree on that point.

You are a Christian not dead. Just being a guy means beauty excites you, it only becomes a problem if you dwell on it too long or try to actually so something about it. Christ came to be a stand in for the blood sacrifice so that we could commune with the Father again. Our souls might be dead to sin through what Christ has done for us but not our flesh. That is our job to try and tame the flesh and let our spirit, the Spirit of Christ, rule in our lives. Remember that Paul said, "What I want to do is not what I do and what I do is not what I need to do". We all fall short which is why we need Jesus in the first place.

Its not bad. It normal.

im catholic and i alway have thoughts of lust, we can't control our thoughts, they just happen, and it happens to everybody!

You cannot help the feelings you have, therefore it isnt a sin. But looking at a nude female is acting out on your thoughts, so it is a sin. =)

Matthew 5:28
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Let's be honest. Looking at naked women is enjoyable because at some level it is lustful.

You may e-mail me from my profile if you wish.

Christian, help? Is that what you call an "oxy-moron'?
