Can you get an STD(HIV) from oral sex?!

Question: It worries me because I have done this with guys that were not even virgins. So they could carry anything. Should I really have anything to stress out about?

yes you can although the risk is less than doing vaginal or anal sex without protection.

the oral sex risk is higher if you have sores or cavities in the mouth. They provide entry points into your system for germs. But a healthy mouth and teeth are more resistent. And swallowing other's fluids is more or less a relatively low risk since yrou digestive juices tend to destroy most anythign they encounter.

Of course the first consideration is, if you do not have casual sex with random people, you minimize the risk even further.

And using protection works pretty good too.

But given you have indiscriminately had unprotected oral sex with unknown guys who may or may not have an infection, you have improved the odds of getting something. How much higher yoru risk depends on the presence of cold or other sores or cavities.

The only thing I can say is there really is nothing to stress over. The deed is already done and whatever you caught or didn't catch cannot be undone. But you can get tested and treated if required. As well you can make sure you play way safer in future.

Yes, you can get STD's from unprotected oral sex

Yes

Yes, especially if you have sores or lesions (such as from biting the cheek lining) in your mouth. Don't do it after a dental cleaningm either. Any time there's a chance of bleeding in your mouth, you put yourself at risk..

As stated above, the short answer is YES. Several STD's including but not limited to Herpes, Gonorrhoea/Gonorrhea (Gonococcal Pharyngitis in the mouth for you if he is the infected one, and Gonorrhoea of the urinary tract for him in the event you are the infected one), Chlamydia, HIV, Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), among others.

Use barrier methods even with oral sex. Limit or exclude exposure to sexual/bodily fluids and abstain if you have any sores or cuts on sensitive membranes.

These are all preventable. You're captain of your own ship. Own it.
