Catheter Problem? (I'm male)?!

Question: I'm a 22 year old male, and was recently released from the hospital on December 22nd (7 days ago today), and they had put a catheter in my penis, for about 2 hours.. Well, I was okay for the first day or two, but now I'm peeing blood, AND blood vessles... I know this is gross, but is this normal? It hurts to pee sometimes, but the pain goes away in usually 20 mins..

What should I do? I been drinking nothing but water, and taking cranberry pills (cause I can't stand the juice, plus it's too much sugar). Any ideas?

Angel in most cases it is normal, but if the urethea was small you will usually get this a for a while. Again after 7 days it could be a start of an infection also. The blood and clots are what your seeing. But in any case if it's not better by Monday I would suggest getting back in touch with the doctor just to be on the safe side. Good Luck And I will keep you in my prayer young Man!

maybe you should speak to the doctor who helped you out, just spitballin' though, wait for it to stop and risk getting an infection is your other option.

they told my husband when he had a catheter that he may pee a little blood and it might burn that day but yours was a few days ago and the blood vessel thing they never mentioned. i would call the hospital and tell them what is happening. you might need to be checked.

Dude you should have some discomfort cause the stuck a plastic tube up your unit. then pulled it out. As far as the blood and other things i would see your doctor it doesnt sound right to have that going on just the urethra irritation.
