Why Do People Masturbate?
In addition to feeling good, masturbation is a good way of relieving the sexual tension that can build up over time, especially for people without partners or whose partners are not willing or available for sex. Masturbation also is a safe sexual alternative for people who wish to avoid pregnancy and the dangers of sexually transmitted diseases. It also is necessary when a man must give a semen sample for infertility testing or for sperm donation. When sexual dysfunction is present in an adult, masturbation may be prescribed by a sex therapist to allow a person to experience an orgasm (often in women) or to delay its arrival (often in men).
Is Masturbation Normal?
While it once was regarded as a perversion and a sign of a mental problem, masturbation now is regarded as a normal, healthy sexual activity that is pleasant, fulfilling, acceptable and safe. It is a good way to experience sexual pleasure and can be done throughout life.
Masturbation is only considered a problem when it inhibits sexual activity with a partner, is done in public, or causes significant distress to the person. It may cause distress if it is done compulsively and/or interferes with daily life and activities.
Is Masturbation Harmful?
In general, the medical community considers masturbation to be a natural and harmless expression of sexuality for both men and women. It does not cause any physical injury or harm to the body, and can be performed in moderation throughout a person's lifetime as a part of normal sexual behavior. Some cultures and religions oppose the use of masturbation or even label it as sinful. This can lead to guilt or shame about the behavior.
Some experts suggest that masturbation can actually improve sexual health and relationships. By exploring your own body through masturbation, you can determine what is erotically pleasing to you and can share this with your partner. Some partners use mutual masturbation to discover techniques for a more satisfying sexual relationship and to add to their mutual intimacy.

It's fine. You're 16, carry on and enjoy !

It helps keep away wet dreams.

it's exercise.
you can get an infection, so be careful to clean up afterwards, and I'm sure you know you can't do it immediately after ejaculating, that's bad. but you should be fine.

its not unhealthy, but being addicted to it probably is not good...but meh..

well its alrite...
but to much of anything isn't good.
shoudn't be "addicted to it"

Even doctors will tell you it is very healthy to masturbate often.

it is really depends on how you do it!! some ways are healthy, but if you do it wrong and over clock it, it is probably not.

you will konw.

It is perfectly normal for boys, especially around your age, to want to masterbate! Don't worry. It is even normal for girls. If you ever come across anyone who says they don't masterbate, I am sure they are lying. Enjoy it, it's your body, giving you the freedom to do what ever you want to it/with it.
Knock yourself out.

its healthy you masturbate. its normal for young people to do it 1-3 times daily. but it makes you get sleepy and causes dark-circles around your eyes. so masturbate wisely, boy

It is healthy.

It strengthens the immune system, relieves sexual stress, and keeps you from having nocturnal emissions.

I am fifteen years old and I do it a few times a day. I have yet to see one side effect to it.

no its not healthy at all if u do it just do it as less as possible because it DOES become a destructive addiction

It's healthy and perfectly normal.

If you do it in public..unhealthy.
In private whack away..you're no different than anyone else, when I was your age I couldn't stop. Sears catalog used to set me off.

Unless you use power tools or do this at the dinner table, masturbation is healthy and a normal part of life

not good for your health but recently doctors from UK said that masturbate is good for release tension and sex-tension. so, keep slow your activity until it stops when you married. another way, you can slow talk to your family, especially your dad about your problem, other than that, you must go to the psychology's doctor and tell your problem.

masterbation is a good way to experiement with ones self, its normal to be addicted to masterbating at such a young age. so enjoy

It's healthy as long as it doesn't become an addiction. As in if you do it more then twice a day or it is affecting your life.

It's a lot healthier than finding a seemingly nice girl, having some fun, then being told 6-9 years later when you and your new wife are trying for a baby, that you're sterile from having caught Clamydia or one of the other hundreds of STDs.

It's healthy to an extent. Everything has a limit to where it can be best for you (healthy) or totally fatal (obviously unhealthy). At your age there is still plenty of time to find a girlfriend to help you test your sexual prowess. Presently though you should limit your masturbating to once a day or maybe every other day. Though masturbation is healthy, frequent ejaculations (3 or more times a day) can rob the body of energy and the ability to fight disease because it also weakens the immune system.

is super healthy dude, i do it every 3 hours

Just don't use any pictures of the Pope !
