How to become motivated to run/workout?!


Question: I always start and then somehow get tired of it. I know I need it to maintain health (I'm not fat or anything, my BMI is under weight) but working out is still essential. How do i become motivated?


Answers: I always start and then somehow get tired of it. I know I need it to maintain health (I'm not fat or anything, my BMI is under weight) but working out is still essential. How do i become motivated?

Motivation comes from within. It takes a few weeks or so to get used to a new workout program. Once you get bitten by the "exercise bug" the exact opposite happens. You begin to feel "under the weather" when you don't workout.

Make sure to switch things up (once a month) to avoid boredom.

Some kick *** music! Use an ipod when you work out and add new songs often so you don't get sick of the same ones. You can also do a five minute routine to warm up after you stretch. Something that will get your heart rate up fast.

I agree with the answerer who mentioned good music; music is a real motivator. Your runs/workouts are also great stress relievers, so make the time for them and you'll be happier and more relaxed, as well as in great shape.

Grab a friend to go run/workout with you. Seriously, it's MUCH better with a friend (or two) than to go by yourself. You can motivate each other.
