What is jock itch?
Jock itch is a pink, scaly, itchy rash on the inner thighs and groin. Other names for this rash are ringworm of the crotch or tinea cruris.

How does it occur?
Jock itch is caused by a fungus, often the same one that causes athlete's foot. Sometimes it is transferred by a towel used first to dry the feet and then the groin area. It is much more common in men than women.

What are the symptoms?
Symptoms are:

itching of the groin or crotch, anal area, or inner thigh
slightly raised patch of dry or scaly rash in the groin area or on the inner thigh, often red or brownish red, with sharp borders
redness of the skin.

Your health care provider may recommend putting a nonprescription antifungal powder or spray on the affected area of your skin. Examples of such medicines are miconazole (Micatin), tolnaftate (Tinactin), and clotrimazole (Lotrimin).

put some itching cream on it and see a doctor to get more info

I know you said men only, but I just thought me answering wouldn't hurt.

Honestly, I'm not sure. BUT! Maybe (just a guess) you have let something rub you wrong around there and now you're chaffed?

Use baby powder after showering, and when getting dressed. This will soak up the sweat and stop the soreness.

You can stop the itching with 1% hydrocortisone cream (not ointment) from the pharmacy. Do not use alcohol - it may ease the pain initially, but because it dries the skin, it will actually make the condition worse.

Gold Bond Medicated Powder. You can get it at Wal-Mart.

i think this happened to me before
certain boxers cause a rash when u sweat (from my exercising) because of the constant rubbing - this sometimes happen with certain types of jeans

i cant really remember how i got rid of it, but it didnt last long with me - i never put anything on mine, i just took a long bath then sat down/laid down with some thin shorts with my legs open for some time afterwards. also sleep in that position. i doubt if i really noticed it the next day

since you have put so much stuff on your's, i might be irritated and it might last longer - i recommend a bathe and some sleep

you should keep your legs open - seriously, that rash will need to air out - and put on the mininum clothes down there - like some jogging shorts and no underwear

Sounds like jock itch to me, even if one of the doctors didn't think so. You can use a good powder like seasorb-af (af=anti-fungal so make sure that you get the af version) to absorb the sweat and fight the fungus. You can also use an athlete's foot cream (both athlete's foot and jock itch are caused by tinea, a fungus) to both sooth the area and fight the fungus. Most of the cremes contain a cortisone lotion to provide some relief from the itching.

i use nappy cream when that happens to me (get the wife to do it) get your gf to do it if you have 1.
it helps a lot clears up in a day or two.
thats what it is for its a bit like nappy rash.
