What is going on?!

Question: I am 17 years old and i had a irritable bowl syndrome for about 2 years. It might have slowed down my growing and rate of puberty. I am about 5'11, 135 pounds and i have like no hair on my thighs and little under my airpits or a lot less than my friends. Everything else seems to be all good. I have been going through puberty for like 3 years and it should be ending soon. I am wondering if there is something that i should do?

It sounds like have had a lot of the same things I have been going thru too! I have had an IBS-type problem too over the last many years. Mine was anxiety-related though too.

I am in my mid-late 30's and have problems with sparse body-hair too (embarassing)! It's weird, but it all ties in together (one thing seems to affect another).

I'm sure you have seen a doctor for this over a time-period (?). I finally got someone to understand what things I was going through and gave me some hope! I have been seeing an Immunologist for my problem for a year now. I don't know if you see someone who deals with digestive-health or another? Hopefully I gave you some kind of idea of what options you might have. Good luck!

Have you had a colonoscopy? What changes have you done to your diet? Are you currently taking any medication?

Unless the irritable bowel syndrome is affecting vitamin absorption, it should not affect your puberty. Just to be on the safe side, take a multivitamin and if you don't do a sport, do some exercise. ^_^
