I think it will even out with time. The same thing happened to me my whole life. . . one leg was hairier than the other, then one armpit, and in my early 20's, half my chest was hairier than the other. Now, in my 30's, things are evened out.
If it bothers you that other people might notice and think you're a freak, just trim some away from the hairier side with scissors or a beard trimmer, but I don't recommend shaving - too itchy.
