Your goal is laudable and magnificent! Maybe I can tell you a few things that will help prepare you for what you will be going through, but I cannot tell you how long it will take, because that depends on what you do and whether you stick to your program. Even after you have lost the weight, you will need to maintain a new lifestyle of healthier eating and regular physical activity in order to maintain your new weight where you want it. You cannot lose the weight and then go back to the lifestyle that you had before.

With a good weight loss program, one can count on losing one to two pounds per week in the short term, or about one pound per week in the long term. As you continue your program, the rate of weight loss will tend to slow down. If you lose weight too rapidly, you may become ill, and I'm sure you will not want that to happen.

Fat stores a lot of energy, something on the order of 3500 Calories per pound. So, to lose one pound per week, you must burn 500 Calories per day more than you consume.

Further, there will be periods of time when you are doing everything right and you will not see any weight loss -- this is called a plateau. Weight loss is not a steady, progressive process but a stair-step process.

Every well-organized weight reduction program is a combination of a diet and exercise program. If you try to lose weight through diet alone, then as much as 25% of the weight you lose will be lean body tissue, and lean body tissue should be maintained and encouraged. Only physical activity can do that. It has been found in studies that overweight people tend to be less active than non-obese people, so it is harder for an overweight person to keep doing an activity program. Also, the weight can result in extra wear and tear, especially on the low back, hips, knees ankles and feet, and pain in these areas can make activities uncomfortable or even painful. But it is important to use the muscles below your waist, because those are the largest muscles in the body and can burn the most extra energy.

One must be realistic about weight loss goals, too. Fewer than 2% of persons who are more than 100 pounds above ideal body weight are ever able to reach ideal body weight, but you could be one of those who succeed, so you should certainly give it a real try.

If you have tried multiple weight loss programs without success, you might be a candidate for bariatric surgery.

And one more thing -- the change in body image that comes with major weight loss can be a source of difficulty in relationships. People who liked you heavy may not feel so comfortable with a new, slimmer you. They could try to sabotage your program by trying to get you to eat things that aren't part of your program, or they could become less close. I recommend that every patient of mine who is in the process of losing a lot of weight should at least have access to psychological counseling.

9 months, 4 days

let me know when u find out.

if youre going to do it in a healthy way, it will probably take like a year. you usualy dont wanna lose much more than like 3 pounds a week.

depends on your workout regiment and if you stick to it.
id say stick with it for a year and you will definately lose a ton
go to any gym though and ask their diet/nutrition person or a trainer how to do it safely

good luck :)

it depends. if you already eat healthy and your just carrying the wieght because a slow metabolism, its going to take a lot longer than if your carrying the wieght because you dont eat healthy and eat fast food. because cutting out fast food and fatty foods will drastically change your wieght alone.

also if you excercise, how often, and how intense.

if you do a detox, cut out all unhealthy foods, start eating correctly(try 5 small meals a day rather than 3 large) and you do a work out routine, ive seen one of my friends loose 22 pounds in 2 weeks from detox alone. i dont see this as safe really, but i also think that 3 pounds a week limit is rediculously low.

when you first start to loose wieght, your going to drop a lot of it right away and then the wieght loss will start to slow down(way down). I'd say 20-30 pounds the first month- month1/2. then it will slow to 3-5 pounds a week for maybe a month and then it will slow to 2-3 pounds a week after that.

thats my guess. so good luck!

p.s. never diet, just eat right for life!

It depends on how determined you are, and how you plan to lose the weight. The best way to lose weight is by improving your food intake, by choosing healthier foods, and exercising to burn calories. However, once you have lost weight, you must work extra hard to keep it off.

Best wishes, and good luck with your diet!

liposuction dude...you don't have enough time to lose that much....or maybe contact Subway, now that Jared is a fatty again.

I think it will take around two years to lose ALL of it.
If you stick to this, your results are first are going to be amazing, but after that things are gonna slow down.
don't let that stop you, it's only your body thinking that it's starving so it does everything that it can to slow down the weight lost process.

here's a calculator of the calories you burn doing different kinds of exercises.

just put in your weight, and the duration and calculate.

good luck, and think more about changing your whole lifestyle instead of just losing this weight, and then going back to the same eating habits.
