Could it be a bladder infection?!

Question: I'm a 21 year old male and just recently I have had another attack of a reoccuring illness. About 4 years ago I had an illness in which I constantly felt like I needed to pee, even a few minutes after going to the toilet, and each time I tried I only actually had a very small amout of urine to release. This lasted a couple of months and one day just disappeared. During this time I consulted my GP who checked for an infection and refered me for an ultrascan but both tests came back with nothing wrong with me. Since then I have had it return a couple of times, although generally for shorter periods. Just recently it has returned with a vengeance and it is incredibly annoying as it's always on my mind and I can never fully relax.

Hi

Yes, from what you have said it indicates a bladder infection.

I would advise you to go to the doctor and request to give a urine sample.

The urine sample will be checked by a pathologist for any infection. If an infection is detected your doctors should prescribe you the recommended anti-biotics to kill the bacteria.

In the meantime, i would advise you drink plenty of water (even tho this can be embarassing) but you need to make sure you are flushing out any bacteria. Wear loose fitting, cotton under wear.

In the meantime, i would keep on at your doctor to be referred to a urinologist.

My sister suffers with the similar symptoms so i can completely sympathise.

There is obviously something wrong there in the long term so i would definately get completely checked out.

Hope this helps

Angela

ok well it can be a uti or bladder infection or maybe an std...but it sounds like a bladder infection...it might go away but take antibiotics and if it doesnt clear up...maybe you should drink more water

Men rarely get UTIs. At least thats what the doctor I worked for said. It rare but it can happen. Normally when you have a bladder infection your kidneys also hurt, which would mean pain in your lower back. I would suggest you drink plenty of water and go see a Urologist (a urinary specialist)

did you go to a general practitioner? you should see a urologogist they are trained in that type of problem, they know what to do,i suggest you seek the help of a good urologist.good luck.
