Can weight gain cause a decrease in one's sex drive?!

Question: My SO has gained about 40 pounds recently and although I still think he is absolutely lovely.... it seems as though he hardly ever initiates sex anymore. Of course, he has become less affectionate in general, and this is causing me to feel bad about myself. I think that he has been like this because of the weight gain, but I am not 100% positive. I know he is really self conscious at the moment, but he is doesn't seem to want to go to the gym or eat really healthy food. What do I do? I can't go without it forever!!!!

Alas the answer is yes. It makes it more uncomfortable physically for the man. Also the pubic pad gets fatter making the penis seem smaller and this has a psychological effect as well.
Try to find out why he has put on so much wight..it may be an outcome of depression...it may mean many things. the difficulty is getting him, as a male, to talk about it.
Try not to feel bad about it yourself...encourage him because as you have written you still think him lovely.

YES! Not only can you feel self conscience, but the extra weight just plain makes you lethargic. You don';t have the energy for that much physical labor!
