cycling can help you to loose overall fat if you are doing it alot. It cant spot reduce fat from your stomach, nothing can do that. The best thing to deal with stomach fat is to loose weight overall (which it sounds like your in the process of doing) by doing exercise which raises your heart rate to anything from30% for mild reactions to whatever your fitness instructor has advised is best for your health (depending on your fitness level and health issues).

That said, you can tone up your stomach, situps, machine stuff, rowing machines, and yes cycling, basicly they all can work to help you tone your stomach because you will be (and must make a concious effort to) hold in your stomach tightly- as tightly as possible- while you excercise. If you donbt you risk traininng your stomach to push outwards- never a good look!

If you want extra ideas for situps, try using a swiss ball or holding a dumbell weight to your stomach or chest as you do your situps.

And core stability classes are also really good, they are good becuase you are under the concious eye of the class teacher who will correct you when you are doing the wrong thing, so you know how to do things effectively. Core stability classes can be called "core...." pilataes, torso or abs class, most gyms have them in one way or another, you need to do atleast 2 hour-sh long classes a week to get a decent result or your wasiting your time

i dont understand your weight measurments what r stone, i guess your not american. but anyways running and swimming are also great ways to loose fat, anything aerobic

try crunches, they are different than sit-ups and curl-ups. use your abs to pull your shoulders up a little (tighten your abs)

Stomach crunches (sit up's) will help you.

Yes cycling helps the stomach.. When I'm watching TV, I get on the floor and move my legs like a bicycle and I feel it in my stomach. It helps me!!!!!

Presume your diet is good? Diet is the best way to shrink stomach fat. Biking is a fantastic way to torch the fat as well, plus it builds up muscles in your legs, muscles we dont always use either.
Just be patient, stomach fat is hard to shift once its there so keep going & it should soon go away.

Hit the crunches!!!!

Also, cut out the carbs after 6 pm, drink 4 litres of water per day and keep training.

Try buying menshealth mag (or visit website). Always good tips on there.

If you want something that's fun to do and doesn't hurt your back...get the 'Hip Hop Abs' Dvds, the moves in that concentrate fully on your core, you can feel your abs working right thrughout all the workouts. and you won't dread it when it's time to do it because it is fun! :) And it also works on the rest of your body at the same time ;)

swim.
