It could be performance anxiety. When a guy is under pressure to impress you, he can totally lose an erection because he becomes nervous that you won't be pleased with him. My boyfriend was a virgin when we started having sex and he had that same problem the first couple of times, but I talked to him about it and gently encouraged him by telling him that hes amazing, and now we have great sex!

If he's a virgin and really very nervous about 'doing it' and 'performing well for you', then it might be a psychological stress factor there. Try to talk to him about it, and maybe try and relax him!
Otherwise, he might want to talk to a doctor about it.
This is a GOOD sign that you should wait.
Quite often young males can feel a lot of pressure, especially if its their first time. Try having a few drinks beforehand to relax him a little. Not too many though...

I think its a nervous thing... I mean, it probably goes soft because he's nervous. Theres nothing wrong with his health or anything, trust me.
