In most cases it is hereditary. Pulling your hair back can cause it to break... in length but not hair loss on top of your head and wearing a hat alot, many men do and don't lose their hair. I have known several men your age that have started to go bald and my dad was one of them along with co workers. My grandfather was partially bald too. If baldness runs in your family accept it. If it doesnot then you might check with a Dr. to see if there is a medical problem that might cause this.

genetics. i began losing my hair at like 21 and was completely bald on top before 30. sometimes it can be from malnutrition, but i suspect that is rare.

male pattern baldness. its genetic

Being one that lost a lot of his hair at age 21 - 22, I can tell you from experience and asking the same question - It IS genetics. It's not due to hat wearing. I never wore hats when I was teen and 20's. But my mom's father, who I found out I look a lot alike - started to loose his hair at the same age... So check your family background - especially on your mom's side of the family - but do not ignore your dad's either.

it may be due to many reasons. mainly hormonal, genetics. if your father or grandfather are not bald then its mainly hormonal. acupuncture helps. massaging Indian cantheridine hair oil or gingelly oil or almond oil on the head and scalp helps. oil and massage in the night, leave it for the night and take a head shower with shampoo in the morning. atleast thrice per week. REDKEN all soft heavy cream in cosmetics shops helps reduce hair fall and improve the texture. yoga, meditation, correct diet helps. coffee, tea is bad. too horny makes one go bald early. western medicine has little or no positive effects.

Thats all crap.

It's in your genes, probably your grandfather lost his hair at a young age as well.

Hang in there, its not the end of the world!!!

genetics, metabolic imbalance, poor diet, stress.... see your doctor to rule out a medical cause and to get a real answer.

i started losing mine at 18 too and i always wore a hat but its mostly from your genes what i do is shave it all off if you have a smooth head if not keep it short
