Chances of going bald?!

Question: Hi Guys,
I'm 16 and i'm getting really depressed about losing hair, i mean I have a full head of thick hair, but I'm afraid of losing it. I want to know my chances, so far I think its a 75% chance (genetically speaking). My hair is dark brown and extremely thick and wirey (i've been told by hairdressers i'll never go bald)

My maternal grandfather is bald, he had blonde, thin hair and went bald at 19 (i'm 99% sure I wont get follow his baldness) my mums brother had pitch black hair, bald at 35 (his hair was wispy and thinner than mine at 16)

My dad is 42 and has had an M Head for 20 years, only just progressed (crown slightly thin - his hair was thinner and fairer than mine at 16). My uncles have full heads of hair, my paternal grandfather has a full head of thick, wirey hair.

My hair colour resembles no ones really, texture wise im sure its like my paternal grandfathers (extremely thick and wirey). So what are my chances of going bald? It's not definate is it :-( I'm hoping for 75%

I'm not exactly a professional but I am 20 and I had the same dilemma. Like the rest of my family tree had baldness running rampant but my dad at 55 is just now starting to have balding at the crown. And from my experience and expertise, you should be fine. It really matters most on your dad. That means that his dad and his wife's genes mixed to give him a longer hair expetancy.

Hope that helps, I believe you will be fine.

Have a good day. Oh and I am using my work time to help you out. :)
