Most of what you hear about vasectomy is urban legend.

A mans body absorbs its sperm even before he gets a vasectomy. Assuming he is in good health, his body makes sperm 24 hours a day, for most of his life. Clearly he does not have sex 12 times a day for his whole life. In fact maybe .5% of his sperm ever leaves his body mixed with his semen.

Once he has a vasectomy none of the sperm make it into his semen. The amount absorbed by his body changes so insignificantly that it is never noticed. He will still ejaculate his semen, but it is free of the microsopic sperm.

I had mine done 20 years ago, when I was just 21. I never had children. I think it was the best thing I ever did in my whole life.

I had a vasectomy about 3 years ago. The procedure is pretty simple and short. Takes a day or two to recover, but otherwise back to yourself in about 7 days. Sperm is reabsorbed by the body and broken back into proteins and amino acids that are extracted through normal processes. There are some extremely rare side effects, but discuss them with the doctor if there are any concerns (i.e. granulomas). I have not experienced any issues to date.

Yes it is true that they do get reabsorbed into the body. you may want to check with your Doctor or nurse because in california most doctors will not perform a vasectomy unless the wife signs off on it too. or there could be a lawsuit.

call your doctor

The semenal fluid is still present. Only the sperm cells themselves are absorbed back into the body. There is just a little bit of difference in the amount of ejaculate. Its just fluid, no sperm. I had a vasectomy 19 years ago. I have never experienced any problems.

most men that get them ,it is a way to fool around and not get anyone pregnant
