My son is developing breasts?!

Question: I have a son, aged 5 and a half. He has recently started to develop breasts? He may be slightly chubby, but he is 'big-boned' as he is 3'2 and only weights 60 pounds. Is there a medication or something that can help him?

"big boned" LOL!

Sorry that was kinda mean, but no such thing as big boned - You son is probably fat - Men get "moobs" because they are overweight! Man Boobs are just a collection of fat in the chest area. Exercise and Diet will fix this -- no pills...

Now with that said -- your son may be Transexual! If he is truly the correct size(which i doubt) and he is getting boobs he may have an inbalance of hormones. Simple - do a BMI test (which i just did) and see if he is over weight!

You son is Borderline Obese -- 29.9 Bmi - he is EXTREMLY unhealthy and should be put on a diet immediatly for his own healths sake! I would recommen no sweets or fatty foods for a month until he is about 50lbs!

none that I know of.. It's best to visit a doctor. Though you might just be over-reacting to some excess fat. Here in Malta i'm used to fat people (they really look like they have breast.. hehe) Take care.

Is he getting tea tree oil in any form? Or Lavender oil.. Check what bath and hair products you are giving him as well as supplements. Make sure these things don't get used.

By the way, the symptom is called Gynecomastia and is not uncommon. There are medical and herbal treatments. Those advocating liposuction for a 5 year old are not to be listened to. Although I would recommend a healthy exerice and diet program before using any supplements or medicines.

Typically you don't see gynecomastia in prepubescence, but it has been diagnosed in toddlers on rare occasions and can result from the use of the aforementioned products, but can also result from endocrine disruption due to estrogen producing tumors. So please take this seriously and follow through with a doctor visit.

dont worry so has my dad lol

When people gain weight, they can gain it in the chest also. Why not take your son to the pediatrician and ask the doctor what he thinks. If your sons breast development seems abnormal to the dr, he can take blood from your son, to check his hormone levels.

U'd have included some pics. Anyway, visit a doctor right now if it's too fatty or large. And remember that might be some extra fat muscles or could be some tumor. So, don't come to a conclution if u don't know what exactly these are. So, u better visit a doctor. And ya, don't be tensed. Everything will be all right...just relax ! :D

Liposuction is available if that chest tissue doesn't go away with diet and excercise. It will solve the problem of male boobs.

Maybe you have a daughter?

take his *** to the doctor. his hormonse ar prolly imbalanced

I think he is too young for medication, you might come across the word gynecomastia (female breast in men) but ignore it, as this only happens when you are near puberty.

If he remain chubby, he may not achieve his full height. Give him less fat and proteins, carb etc more.
