What's wrong with me? (Please try to explain everything i have listed)?!

Question: Well, first I want to establish that I am telling the truth about everything that's about to be said. I'm 17 years old right now. I'm a male. I weigh 240 pounds and i'm 6'0". I have sleeping problems, and I've tried to fix them. I use to take trazodone. I now sleep from 6-11 AM in the morning through 2-5 PM. it changes everyday. I pull out my hair from random parts of my body, like my arms, arm pits, private parts and sometimes i take tweezers and pull on single facial hairs. I bleed through the cavaties in one of my teeth everyday. My bones make creaking sounds all the time. I also bleed every time I use the bathroom, the toilet paper always has a disgusting ammount of blood. I masturbate almost everyday. I try not to, but for some reason I can't fight it. I'm kind of fat, but that's a problem i do understand. I'm itchy everywhere, though i don't have a visible skin condition. I get random pains in my heart. I also get random pains in the back of my head. I bite the tips of my fingers

Many of the symptoms that you describe are characteristic of a psychological disorder... at the very least a severe anxiety disorder. The hair pulling (called trichotillomania) is a way of relieving anxiety for some people. The itching and biting your fingertips are also symptoms of anxiety. Heart pains and even head pains are very common in anxiety and panic disorders as well. Many people who think they are having a heart attack are actually having a panic attack.

The weight issue and sleep irregularities are characteristic of depression. Unfortunately, once you get on an irregular sleep pattern, it tends to just make everything worse (I know this from experience... I was also a 6 am to 3 pm person) because you start to lose touch with reality. It's not good for you to be awake when everyone is asleep and asleep when everyone is awake... it makes depression, anxiety and feelings of alienation and loneliness much worse.

If you are taking trazodone, I'm assuming you have sought some type of psychiatric treatment... it sounds as though it's not helping you much, or not enough. You need to talk to a good psychiatrist about all of these symptoms, and they can help you figure out what the cause is, and proper treatment. Medication may not be the sole answer... you may need some other forms of therapy (behavioral-cognitive therapy, psychotherapy, etc.)

If the blood on the toilet paper is bright red, you probably don't have too much to worry about... it is generally due to a hemorrhoid or small tear in the tissue from wiping too hard. If the blood is darker, it means it's older, and may be coming from further inside, which you should definitely get checked out with a doctor. (If I had to field a guess, I would think that maybe you are a little obsessive in making yourself clean, and are too rough in that area, causing it to bleed...)

Your cavity needs to be fixed by a dentist. Get it over with... it's worth it just to have it out of your mind. It's also not healthy to have an abscess in your mouth, open for infection. Get it fixed before it turns into something more serious.

Your bones creaking could be just a normal part of growing. Mine creak all the time, and I'm only 23. It wouldn't hurt to mention it to your doctor, but it doesn't sound like you should be too concerned about it.

Masturbating every day is not abnormal for someone your age. Or any male past puberty, for that matter. As long as you are not suffering from strange/disturbing thoughts, desires or impulses, you should not feel guilty about it.

I recommend that you make an appointment with your doctor and explain your symptoms. You will likely get a referral to a psychiatrist, who will be able to help you with your anxiety, depression, or whatever you might be experiencing. Don't give up hope... you aren't as abnormal as you think you are, and there are many people out there who know what you're going through. (And don't listen to the a-holes on here who say stupid stuff just to insult you... they are probably more mentally ill than any of us who freely admit our problems)

PS- I was busy writing this while the smart dude above me posted his answer... I swear I'm not just copying :)

How the hell could someone answer this!!!!!
VISIT A DOCTOR ....

Get your parents to take you to the doctor asap apart from the masturbating everything there sounds like alarm bells to me

Try sleeping when everyone else does, stop pulling out your hair (they have razers for that), go see a dentist and a doctor for the teeth, bleeding, and heart problems (not good signs of health), workout and get a girlfreind

I don't even know what your question is. You should discuss this with your Dr.if you feel you are having side effects from your meds. Or if you feel that your med,s are not controlling your symptoms;

You sound like you are stressed , and there is usually an underlying cause of the stress . So the answer would be to understand what is stressing you and try and resolve that .
If you are not sleeping properly this can be at the root of everything . You need to establish a proper pattern and stick to it . e.g go to bed 10.30 pm -11.30 pm and get up 7.30 am to 8.30 am . Get regular exercise and eat a healthy diet . Try not to use artificial means (medication) of helping you sleep as this is habit forming
Maybe you should visit you GP , but try not to get hooked on any medication as in the long run it can make things worse.
Good Luck

Pulling out your hair is actually a disorder. It's called trichotillomania. It's an "impulse control disorder"--simply put, repeated failures when trying to stop yourself from doing something that will cause harm. It's basically a stress-reliever. The biting the tips of your fingernails is the same thing. If you do it excessively, you may suffer from severe anxiety. If it's just a force of habit, some drug stores sell a coating that tastes nasty that you cover the tips of your fingers with. It's invisible, but it certainly does help you stop.

There's no medicated cure for trichotillomania, except for "behavior-revarsal therapy", where you learn when to identify the urge to pull out your hair, and then learn how to conquer the impulse.

Now. The blood in your stool is most likely an anal fissure--a farely common thing. It usually happens after you're constipated and you try to pass large, hard stool.
You may also have ulcerative colitis--basically ulcers lining your stomach, thought to be caused by an overreaction of the immune system to bacteria in the stomach. You might want to get a doctor to check it out.

The pains in your heart and the creaking of your bones are most likely from being overweight. The excess fat on your body is causing your heart to work extra hard, which means it may hurt sometimes. As well, the fat on your body is causing increased stress on your joints, which is probably what the creaking is from.

There is no problem with masturbating almost every day. I do it, myself. It is completely normal for a 17 year old boy. Your hormones are going psycho right now--not only is it normal, it's rather expected.

Please, if any of these symptoms are bothering you enough, go see a real doctor about them. It may be embarrassing, but it is much, much safer.

hmm... may be a psychiatrist could help you to manage yourself first...

docter seriously sounds like you have some serious physical issues, id talk to your parents about it this is 911 kinda crap, for your sake i'd fess up and go to the docters
