How can I increase my jump?!


Question: I did air alert for a few weeks but had to stop because of back problems. I'm 6'7" and I can already dunk it but I want to get that explosive extra 4 to 6 inches. What can I do?

Do plyometrics. I used to train high jumpers and got a lot of success doing one and two legged plyo's. Start with boxes (metal or wood) about 12 inches high (sturdy so they wont fall). Do 3 sets of 25 on each leg and both legs. Gradually increase the Height of the boxes you use. If you don't have boxes available, I used to use stadium steps with my athletes. I had a jumper once go from a 5'10" his junior year to 6'10" his senior year after we really started hitting the plyo's.

p.s. don't listen to beast, you don't need to risk your health to improve your "ups". If you do this workout, you will increase your verticle.

But a stick of dynamite up your A**, light it and you will get more than enough jump you need dude. Hope this helped you out. Your buddy Bob.....

They have special shoes with weights in them just to help you jump higher. They are great, I used them for cheer leading to increase my jumps. After 1 week of practicing in them my jumps were TOP NOTCH. They make your body weight weightless-GOOD LUCK.
