It's a common myth that hair grows back thicker. It's not true though, because shaving obvious does not magically make more follicles appear. It is an illusion because hairs that are left to grow get thin at the tip and soften from sunlight exposure.

There's no problem with trimming hair down there either, provided you are careful. Don't shave it though, that can irritate the skin.

I keep mine trimmed to about a quarter inch and shave the balls. I have had no problems. The look is clean and the feeling is great. The caveman look is out and grooming is the way to go. I use a beard trimmer and have not experienced any faster or thicker growth so don't worry just trim a little at a time til you get the length you want.

Hair doesn't really grow back thicker when you shave, it just seems that way because when you cut hair the ends are not smooth so it appears thicker. There are no cons to trimming pubic hair except if you shave it too close you may get razor bumps or burns and it will itch when it grows back. But if you just take a bit off it won't make any difference.

It shouldn't change how it will grow.

The only real con about trimiming them is that it can make the ends a bit spiker, when they are left long the ends naturally taper off but if you cut them they're the same thickness at the end so it feels rougher, if you get what I mean. If you want to try it though then go for it.

I have been trimming since I was 18; now I'm getting laser hair removal (as gay as it may sound I'm getting the brazillian treatment) and it is the best investment of my life on my body. No more rashes from heat or rubbing. Sex is great cuz you feel more skin on skin and (for those of you who are size concerned) it makes your willy look a little bigger.

Good luck.

No and no. First of all, the hair on your chin and face has nothing to do with your pubic area. I cut all of my pubic and the hair on my face is still the same as it was before. The only side effects of shaving your pubes are hair follicle bumps from the hair growing downward instead of upward but ive only had that problem once so you'll be alright. And if you do cut your pubes you will look and feel cleaner.

I like to keep my pubes trimmed just enough to give it five o'clock shadow.
