Question: The effect of the Tylenol PM is probably not the big deal dear.
It's what it is masking that could be.
The general recommendation with all those over the counter medicine to see a doctor if you don't feel better after 4 days is based on the fact that you could have a more serious disease underlying the symptoms that the over the counter medicine is designed to minimize.

the active ingredient in it is an antihistamine that has the side effect of drowsiness. it is not addictive. it is diphenhydramine hydrachloride ... also known as benadryl.

no. Just make sure you're not taking ten pills at a time...

Yes because you are forming a bad habit of always having to take those pills to fall asleep.
Eventually you won't be able to fall asleep with out them.
I take Dramamine. Its a motion sickness pill. It will have less chance of that bad habit forming because the effects are more subtle.

i wouldn't think so. I had mono earlier this year and i took tylenol pm every night for a few weeks. It didn't seem to have any adverse effects, and i'm not hooked on sleep meds or anything. hope this helps.

Probably not. However anyone could develope a dependency. Do you have a history of dependency or any addiction? Id stear clear if so. Sometimes its just not worth it. If you dig yourself in a hole where you feel like you need those things, your going to be really pissed at yourself.

I would nix the Tylenol, it can damage ur liver and just take the Benadryl if you need help sleeping. the Tylenol does nothing for sleep, the Benadyl is what causes the drowsiness.
