Too circumcise or not to circumcise?!

Question: Not that I'm getting a kid, just, as for my imaginary friend.. how would he prefer to be? I know it's weird to ask but honestly I don't want to seem like i'm having a child. x.x Which is better, I guess i'm asking.

Not to circumcise, I like my penis uncut, the foreskin is a nice addition, and it's fun to play with, not to mention that there's more sensation. The foreskin has nerve endings in it, and cutting it off removes those nerves that add sensation. The foreskin covers the glans (head) for a reason too, it's to keep it moist and sensitive, and chopping of the foreskin makes the glans exposed to the comparative roughness of your clothing, and because the glans is so sensitive, the rubbing from cloth is enough to get you aroused. To keep you from being aroused constantly, the tissue on the glans thickens and hardens to desensitize it. Also, that myth about STD protections is crock, as unprotected sex with a diseased person will result in you contracting a disease, nothing can stop that, certainly not circumcision. As for infections, they are about as rare as any other bodily infection, except that you can keep a foreskin cleaner than you can other body parts that are vulnerable, like your ears. Cleaning is quick and simple, so cleanliness problems are very rare. If a guy is taught to clean his penis, he'll keep it clean, so cleanliness is not a valid argument. Now for looks, unless the guy is dating shallow girls who are superficial and in a relationship for any reason other than love and belonging, his partner shouldn't care, and if they do, they should be left immediately. Though in reality, a great deal of love interests familiar with circumcised penises will approach an uncut penis with curiosity rather than disgust. Lastly, there are no problems with an uncut penis in the locker room, I had no problems, and the idea of bullies picking on others in the locker room is merely a Hollywood myth. Guys in locker rooms are so consumed by their fear of being perceived as gay or caught staring at another guy's penis, that they simply keep to themselves, and even the bullies don't make jokes for these very reasons, socialization of any sort in a locker room is very, very rare. So, go with uncut, it's so much better. I'm proud of being uncut, and wouldn't change it for the world.

Prefer to not circumsize due to I could never put a child through the horrid pain of having that skin torn off; also as long as you teach the child how to clean, they will be fine.

I would not circumcise a baby, because I don't think of that as actually being a parent's choice.
If an adult male wanted to be circumcised, I would say he should go ahead and do that.
Once you remove the foreskin, you can never get it back. Best to leave it intact until the person it belongs to is old enough to decide.

I would say when it is a baby leaving it to the default is best. I think it's very smart how it works and it doesn't need to be removed to be improved. Besides, it's cruel to do with a baby.

There are many advantages to remaining intact as well as many disadvantages to circumcision and possible side effects/complications of the procedure. Loss of sensation is the major one, and remember it was originally populated to stop masturbating. Circumcised guys can also have problems with dryness when they have intercourse but intact guys are less likely to need lubricant and studies show they can give more pleasure to a woman during sex as well.

It shouldn't be up to people to defend being intact - that's the default. There should be persuasive reasons to circumcise, but there don't seem to be any. Looks and hygiene should not be a reason for such surgery. Besides, it's cleaner having an intact penis on an infant (with the foreskin naturally fused to the glans, non-retractable until they are much older and can wash it themselves) than a circumcision would stuck in a nappy.

About oral sex like one person mentioned above...it's up to nobody else to think of the baby's future oral sex life. Honestly again just because some girls might say they prefer a cut penis it really doesn't mean a thing. I would say it's better to have meaningful relationships with women who appreciate it than just to find how many chicks you can get to suck you off because you're missing a bit. Anyway, if as a teenager the boy thinks "I'm not getting enough blowjobs, must be the foreskin" he can go and get cut for himself.

Having said that I've given oral to my intact boyfriend and it doesn't smell or taste bad or anything like that.

Some people prefer circumcision for aesthetic or religious or other reasons, that should absolutely be the adult's choice to make. You can get circumcised at any age but it can never be undone.

No to circumcision.

I'm not circumcised and my health and life are just fine. On the contrary, read some of the stories of woe of circumcised men/boys here on Yahoo:

Circumcision is no longer as common as before, though. In fact, in many states uncircumcised boys are now or will be in the majority.

By leaving a boy uncircumcised, if he's not satisfied with it he can always get cut and end up satisfied in the end. One survey found that about half of circumcised guys would have preferred to had made the decision themselves:
http://www.jackinworld.com/qow/q15.html

Circumcision has become less common. Circumcision rates were as high as 90% back in the 1960s and 1970s (that's partly why today's adults are so... brainwashed, I supposed you could say, about thinking that circumcision is better) but they have fallen to as low as 14% in some states. Here are the statistics:
http://www.cirp.org/library/statistics/U...

The USA is the last developed nation doing it to a large number of newborns without religious or medical needs. (Europeans, Latin Americans, Japanese, and most Australians, Canadians, and Asians don't circumcise):
http://www.circumstitions.com/Maps.html

Christianity doesn't ask for circumcision, either. In fact, sections of the Bible are harsh against circumcision, and the Catholic Church even condemned the surgery:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circumcisio...

In a medical study, it was found that females are more likely to hit orgasm with an uncircumcised man:
http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/...

The lubricated foreskin (on the inside... like your eyelids) slides up and down during sex and masturbation to stimulate the head (which is why you don't hear of uncircumcised guys needing lube to masturbate).

Studies have found that circumcision reduces sensitivity (this article also mentions how it has lost popularity in the USA in recent times):
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,2855...

And despite being more sensitive, uncircumcised guys still last in the same six minute range (average) that circumcised guys do:
http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs...

Circumcision makes masturbation more difficult:
http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs...

Which makes sense, that's how circumcision was promoted in the USA:
http://english.pravda.ru/science/health/...

Increases erectile dysfunction rates:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez...

If too much skin is removed in circumcision, it can make the penis smaller since the penis needs some skin to expand during an erection:
http://drgreene.org/body.cfm?id=21&actio...
http://www.altermd.com/Penis%20and%20Scr...

There's pain involved, often why doctors don't want you in the room when it's done:

http://www.pslgroup.com/dg/1f21e.htm
(you can search online for a circumcision video, too)

Circumcision does not completely stop penile cancer. The American Cancer Society has already confirmed the myth that circumcision = no cancer.
http://www.cancer.org/docroot/CRI/conten...

If circumcision did stop penile cancer, then penile cancer would not be more common in the USA (most circumcised adults) than in some European nations, where circumcision is not practiced other than for medical/religious reasons.
http://www.circumstitions.com/Cancer.htm...

And a new study found that circumcision does not reduce your chances to get HIV/AIDS. Unlike other studies, this one was done in a developed nation; the USA.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22096758/

Of course, there are other risks associated, but those are typically the ones due to surgery. You can research it more here:

http://www.mothering.com/articles/new_ba...

PS. As far as cleaning goes, it's really simple. For the first years in life the foreskin doesn't pull back. That prevents stuff like poo/fecal matter from touching the head. Later on all it takes it 5 to 10 seconds to pull the foreskin back and rub the head; it even feels good.

Circumsized. No homo but penises that are uncircumsized are ugly and not normal in today's society so let him have a circumsized for his sake.

There is no benefit to circumcision. It was started as a means to desensitize the penis to prevent boys from masturbating. Many false benefits have been claimed in an attempt to keep the practice alive. Male Circumcision is now illegal in most European countries because it is sexual child abuse.

I'm circumcised so I'll give you my perspective on it.
I think it's a good idea. Why?

1. I don't remember it, so if there was "horrific pain" I certainly don't remember. Plus, these days, they use anesthetic, so that excuse is no more valid, than it is if you were telling people not to get dental work done, which would be absurd, right?

2. Recent studies have proven that it cuts down on a guys likelihood of getting STD's, especially AIDS.

3. I've had oral sex performed on me by a lot of girls (lucky me!) and when I've had this discussion with at least some of them, they said they preferred circumcised guys (apparently, uncut guys taste bad).
So, if your "imaginary friend" doesn't get circumcised, he's very likely going to get short changed in the oral sex department, and that, my dear, is a HUGE tragedy!!!!!

Hi Ceiling, you are correct to approach this topic from your little fella's point of view. So may parents think what's best for them. Some go for circumcision so that all the family have matching penises! I have experienced the "snip" and am glad that my folks chose this option - it was fashionable back then. The reason that I am glad is because of looks, hygiene and sexual feeling. Unfortunately I don't know if sexual feeling is better without the snip?

Good luck with a very significant but challenging and rewarding event! When your kids have kids you will really appreciate this journey..

circumsise!

I am uncircumcised, but both my boys are circumcised. When they are that young age, it may hurt a little, but the doctors numb it before they cut. I prefer un..., but had my boys done so when they are in middle/high school showers, they won't feel ashamed.
