He should not wait till Tuesday. He should go to the doctor or hospital right NOW.

A sore and swollen testicle in a young man can be a torsion (the testicle twists on the spermatic cord, strangulating the blood supply).

It is a medical emergency.

The fact that it has got better in the past does not mean that it is safe to leave this time.

There can be other causes for a sore swollen testis, but you should always assume that it is a torsion until proven otherwise.

i know someone with this similar problem....i believe it is where there is some kind of build up (little chunks) and sometimes it really bothers him b/c of the extra weight and it helps to wear supportive underwear to take some of the pressure off...like boxer-briefs....i think a doctor can do an outpatient surgery to remove the problem...but your son may have some other problem...just telling you what i know....good luck

My 19 year old has a similar problem, He has Epididymitis, not uncommon in young men. antibiotics will clear it up. Inflammation of the tube that has something to do with the sperm or semen
google it, it can wait till Tuesday. Have him take Advil for the pain, My sons doctor told him to take 2 tablets 3 times a day along with the antibiotic he prescribed. . Your son can get a head start. My son is fine now

It could be something simple, like a hydrocele (a cyst like formation around the testis) or something more serious like epididymitis, an inflammation of a part of the testis called the epididymus. This can be a bacterial infection, like what causes urinary tract infections, or other bacteria like STDs.. Of course, it could be something completely different, too. It is good that he is going to see the doctor.

This could also be epididymitis, which causes swelling of the scrotum, pain in the testicles, and sometimes a fever. (There can also be swelling that seems to 'favor' one teste). And, if your boy hasn't told a doc about this before, wait till he's feeling better and then smack his *** for him! It could be a serious problem. I have a cousin that this ended up being cancer. It was caught in time, and he has had kids since, and he's fine now. But, WHATEVER the problem is, find a good doc and GO at LEAST once a year. If everything's good, then it's good. If not, well, time to have the regular maintenance done. Does he never change his car oil? Check the tires? Get the picture? Good for you caring, but get him on the ball... no joke intended. And, best of luck to him.

possibly very nasty see a doctor asap worst case it could be testicular cancer but see a doctor.

Ask a physician not strangers.

tell him to quit wearing that damn rubber band.
