Will using small weights to train Biceps be uneffective?!

Question: I use 4.5kg (10lbs) weights to train my Biceps. I have been doing this for a quite a while but my results have so far been that I have bigger triceps and there is not much definiton of the biceps.

Should I upgrade the size of my weights? and if so, to what?
Thanks

to increace muscle size the key is progression.

if you can comfortably lift your 10 pound dumbells then you aren't going to have any gains, biceps are small muscles anyway - the easies way to increace bicep size is (it sounds weird) to train your BIG muscles - like your legs, back and chest, this will induce muscle growth all over.

but in answer to your question

yes, heavier into the 8-10 rep to failure region
