Genes

maybe try to loose 10-15 pounds if you wanna look ripped, but that will be difficult. His BMI is lower then yours so his muscles are more visible.

ur 5'7.. u shud b 150 lbs n start taking weights.. prolly ur frnd takes sterioids or another source of proteins.. for u to look buff rather than lean u shud convert all tht fat into muscle by eating a very high protein less carbs diet! gud luk..

Why gain any weight, you sound perfectly fine. If you want abs, why don't you lose and go down to 155 or 160. My boyfriends the same height as you and he's 155 and he's abs are crazy. Good Luck.

No pain no gain.
about 10 #s.

You need to do a body fat percentage to see what yours is. At about 6 feet 2 inches and 180, your friend sounds about right to have minimal body fat, if he has bulky muscles. You sound on the heavy side, unless you have a lot of muscle development. It could be your training program isn't doing what it should.

You are overweight according to bmi. Unless you have a lot of muscle. Then you have to throw out bmi. Maybe you can get your body fat measured with calipers. That would be more accurate if you have big muscles.
I am 5'8 and if I weigh 164, then I am at the top end of normal.
at 165 I am overweight.
Good luck
