Can a laptop being placed on the lap too long create any medical problem to the !

Question: specifically the testicles, like cancer or tumors?

Answers: specifically the testicles, like cancer or tumors?

There is research into this topic. This is a question many people have been studiing. Researchers believe that the warmth from the computer can cause scrotal temperature to rise. they believe that it may lower sperm count, however things like cancer or tumors probably wont occur

probably yes

yes, it can cause both.

no, a laptop will NOT cause cancer.

Yes, it puts off electrical radiation, but considerably less intensive than radio waves. If you laptop was going to cause abnormal growths, you'd already have them from all the radio stations pumping out signals.

Lets not forget that lights also put out fairly high frequeny electromagnetic waves, just a couple steps below X-Rays and Gamma rays...so light bulbs must cause cancer as well.

It's best to live lin a foil lined cave to keep out those pesky EM waves. Just remember to keep enough foil to make yourself a hat.

I would not worry about cancer or tumors -- the electromagnetic radiation emitted by your laptop is harmless. As others have said, you're being hit by EM radiation all the time, whether you like it or not, but its all very low energy and nothing to worry about. What you do have to worry about, however, is your sperm count.

Laptops can cause problems down there because they tend to heat up. Your testicles are on the outside of your body for a reason -- they need a specific temperature to produce sperm, and this temperature is slightly lower than body temperature. Laptops on your lap often don't get properly cooled and can thus get very hot, making your groin hot as well. A non-optimal temperature down there can reduce your sperm count.

This may or may not be an issue to you. If it is, then make sure not to spend hours a day with your notebook computer on your lap; find a table.

Lol

my laptop practically lives there =]

imma girl btw
as if you hadn't guessed from the avatar :]

OCH i want a foil hat now

not necessarily cancer, but it can lower your sperm count
