My husband had a vasectomy but am I pregnant?!

Question: In June of 2006 my husband had a vasectomy. He did not go and get checked afterwards to make sure he had no more sperm count. But I have not had to worry about pregnancy since then. I am never late for my cycle and come on every month for 4days but this month I came on for only 2 days. Everytime I eat I never feel satisfied or have that full feeling. What do you think?

I'd say you're probably not pregnant, but you might want to do a piss test to make sure. Vasectomies are not 100% reliable until they are verified. The doctor will have your husband produce a sample and look under a microscope. If there are no sperm, then he is officially "shooting blanks". In a very small number of cases, the sperm find a way to get into the semen after a vasectomy. I had one and did not feel safe until I had it verified. After that, no problem. I heard of a case where a woman got pregnant after her husband's vasectomy and he was so upset that he felt sure she was cheating even though she wasn't. Even if the vasectomy is successful, there will be some sperm left in the semen for the first several ejaculations afterward. Even though you are probably not pregnant, you and your husband will sleep better if he has a sample checked. Good Luck

Wishful thinking? If your not sure, get a test. Petty doubtful though, but stranger things have happened.

It's very possibly. Vasectomy's aren't 100% correct. Sometimes it takes more than one try to make sure it was done correctly.

anything's possible, but if the vasectomy was that long ago, i doubt you're pregnant, you're probably just having an irregular month

I think pregancy tests are cheap.

My neighbor has a healthy baby girl, compliments of a vasectomy! Take a test to confirm it.

Well, you probably wouldn't be worried if you didn't cheat. It doesn't sound as if you could be pregnant if you were faithful. It sounds more like your body is going through some hormonal and chemical changes. You should schedule an appointment with your doctor to check your thyroid, iron levels, and all that other fun stuff. While you're there, you can ask for that pregnancy test.

Get a pregnancy test! I'm a firm believer that if you're worried about it... your period won't come! Remember, a woman's stress level and all can affect their period...... Getting a test and finding out that it's negative is sometimes the only reason that you're not getting your period!

It could ALSO be a sign of a problem medically.... I would also suggest going to the gyne.... just to be sure.

The doc who did the snip snip, was probably NOT drunk during his operation. Your man has viable sperm for only a couple of weeks MAX after that. He's NOT going to get your preggers. Someone else may, but not him. If he does, than you have a no lose malpractice claim against the doctor.

get tested. vasectomy's aren't 100% foolproof.

Maybe it is stress or something like that. I know that men have to be checked because even though they have a vasectomy they can still produce sperm and it can still have a chance of coming out. It is a very minimal chance but it can still happen. I knew someone who got pregnant like that.
Good luck!!!

Wait it out, look for the signs. If you are pregnant more signs will appear in due time. It wouldnt hurt to see your gyno though.

LOL, where have you been going? He sure have wetn to be tested and still should. Take a test and if you are not besure, then get to the Dr.====

The only way to be sure is to go to your doctor and let him/her check.

Did he at least follow the rest of the doctor's orders?

he is a fool to not follow through with all this to get that "all clear' signal
