Does building muscle really burn fat?!

Question: yes, the more muscular you are the more calories you burn, even while sleeping! This is because muscles take more calories just to maintain than fat.
Lifting weights doesn't have to be done with the intention of building muscle either, you can lift weights just to loose weight, if you consistantly eat less cals than you use that is. unlike cardio, the "after glow" where your body is fired up and burning cals fast lasts for days rather than just a few hours.

It does not burn that much fat, but it burn calories. 3500 calories= 1lb.

The energy(exercise) you use to build muscle, burns fat.

Keep in mind, some people have the common misconception that fat turns into muscle. This is impossible, as fat and muscle are to different types of cells.

Also, bear in mind that muscle tissue weighs more than fat. So, even though you are burning fat and building muscle, you will not notice for the most part, a reduction in weight, as one is balancing the other.

I probably gave you more info than you needed. I hope this helps.

yea
