I'm not a perv... body hair on boys. Read on for all the details!?!

Question: Ok, on a whim I decided that "when you have pubic hair then you can swear" with my kids. That seemed fair enough -- I WAS mostly thinking of my girls, stuck with all that shaving, they ought to be able to have that ability to swear then. My oldest daughter is 10, but is a year ahead in school - so she's in with 11/12 year old boys. And the subject came up when a couple of her male friends were over and said a swear word. My boys are both little -- so I have no idea when boys start to grow pubic hair (btw -- my husband says he doesn't remember, so he's no help) and I'm going to need to have some judgement on when to let her friends get a pass or "mean mom talk" when they swear. I'm not "checking" and I know better than to actually trust what they say about the matter...

What's the average age that boys start to get pubic hair?

What's the average age that boys start to get pubic hair?

12 or 13. Some of both.

10-14

Usually around 13-16 years old, but I grew pubic hair at the very early age for boys at age 9!

Look under their arms. When it is there they are also growing pubic hair. You realize that your logic makes absolutely no sense. No person (adult or child) should be encouraged to swear.

i would say 12-13

I Agree about 10-12.Then they start growing. My son is 8,so I have a little while longer.Gosh, they grow up so fast.

same as girls around 12

It can happen anywhere from 11-16, depending on the boy and family history.

dont give the mean mom talk if they are acctually her friends shes gona be mad at you trust me im 12 and i know how stuff happens like that, i swear alot im gonna admit it doesent meen anything just meens my vocabulary sucks and i have no other words to use maybe im just trying to be cool i dont know its just a habit well anyways let her do her own thing if its someting like swearing she is not hurting anyone and to get on topic its around 10-14

It's normally around 10.

btw, I like your system!!

I'm pretty sure I was around 15 or 16 years old. A bit of a late bloomer. Didn't get under arm hair till about 17 or 18.

do you think that you are raising your children to be functional adults? Is having hair on your body a sign of maturity? I wouldn't think so seeing how a kid could develop early.....say 9 years old, it it alright for a 9yearold to cuss a storm.... or say someone develops late..... say 18..... so a 9 yearold can swear but an undeveloped 18yearold cannot?
If i were you, i wouldn't bank on getting a parent of the year award.

11-13

u sound lik a good mother
