Er you grew up normal and like most men worldwide. I'm sorry if you're in a country like the USA with a fixation on circumcision and you feel left out. Relax, circumcision is becoming less popular in the States and in most other countries it's not practised at all. It's a bit of a weird thing to do, isn't it?

You can get it done at any age, but why would you? Doesn't your foreskin give you any pleasure? most guys recognise it's important to their penis. If you don't like it then go for surgery but it sounds to me like you just want to fit in.

Even in the USA though there are loads of uncircumcised guys especially younger guys and if you're worried about girls having a problem, most don't. If they do then they're shallow, just dump them. I have never been with a circumcised guy and I think being with an intact guy is great.

Wow....well, i hope your ready for it; But why? Why do you want to get it done? I'd go with what your mom believes in and why she didn't have it done to you in the first place.

As an adult, it will be very painful. If you don't have any health problems because of being uncircumcised, why do you want to have it done?

As a surgical recovery nurse, I recover circ patients daily. Your position is not one that is unusual.

There are as many different ways to perform a circ as there are doctors that do them. I would suggest talking to a urologist.

If you choose to have the surgery, talk with your anesthesiologist about a caudal block or a penile block. It will numb the area for about 3-6 hours.

Most of my patients do not have any trouble with a circ.
Do a search online on adult circumcisions and you can probably find some pics. BUT, don't let the pics scare you off!

Good luck!

with a snip snip here and a snip snip there. Be warned that if you have masturbated in the previous 2 years that it will harm the surgury and could cause infection.

I'm un-cut and I prefer it that way. I watched a show once where they interviewed lots of women and apparently they prefer it un-cut, 'cos its become the norm.

Maybe you should think more about it before you do permanant damage to your penis. You might regret it for the rest of your life.

The surgery itself is pretty quick, but recovery can take about a month (no sex or masturbation until then so it heals properly). Make sure you research it well; your mom had good intentions in mind; you also have advantages by being uncircumcised.

Circumcision has become less common. Circumcision rates were as high as 90% back in the 1960s and 1970s (that's partly why today's adults are so... brainwashed, I supposed you could say, about thinking that circumcision is better) but they have fallen to as low as 14% in some states. Here are the statistics:
http://www.cirp.org/library/statistics/U...

The USA is the last developed nation doing it to a large number of newborns without religious or medical needs. (Europeans, Latin Americans, Japanese, and most Australians, Canadians, and Asians don't circumcise):

Why?

There's pain involved, often why doctors don't want you in the room when it's done:

http://www.pslgroup.com/dg/1f21e.htm
(you can search online for a circumcision video, too)

In a medical study, it was found that females are more likely to hit orgasm with an uncircumcised man:

The lubricated foreskin (on the inside... like your eyelids) slides up and down during sex and masturbation to stimulate the head (which is why you don't hear of uncircumcised guys needing lube to masturbate).

Studies have found that circumcision reduces sensitivity (this article also mentions how it has lost popularity in the USA in recent times):
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,2855...

And despite being more sensitive, uncircumcised guys still last in the same six minute range (average) that circumcised guys do:

Circumcision makes masturbation more difficult:
http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs...

Which makes sense, that's how circumcision was promoted in the USA:

Increases erectile dysfunction rates:

If too much skin is removed in circumcision, it can make the penis smaller since the penis needs some skin to expand during an erection:

Circumcision does not completely stop penile cancer. The American Cancer Society has already confirmed the myth that circumcision = no cancer.
http://www.cancer.org/docroot/CRI/conten...

If circumcision did stop penile cancer, then penile cancer would not be more common in the USA (most circumcised adults) than in some European nations, where circumcision is not practiced other than for medical/religious reasons.

And a new study found that circumcision does not reduce your chances to get HIV/AIDS. Unlike other studies, this one was done in a developed nation; the USA.

I envy you having a foreskin and lots of other circumcised males do too.
Adult males lose 15 square inches (40 square centimetres) of skin in circumcision, over half the skin of your penis. You lose the gliding action as it slides on itself during masturbation and sex. You will suffer bruising, perhaps some bleeding, and the swelling from the disruption to the lymph system goes on for up to six months. Removing the foreskin turns the surface of the glans from an inner mucosal membrane to outside skin. Newly circumcised adults usually go through some weeks of intense discomfort as the glans is constantly exposed to rubbing on clothing, until it develops a thicker keratin layer and becomes less sensitive. You must abstain from ALL sexual activity for an average of six weeks. Some men like the final result but others complain of loss of sensation and miss being able to slide their foreskin over the glans. Circumcised guys often have little or no movable skin left and are forced to masturbate using lube or rubbing dry, without the loose skin. There is no going back if you don
