Europeans can have big feet too, they just don't readily admit it.
But it might be that there are more extreme sizes in the US, because of a combination of races that does not exist in Europe. Also, and don't kill the messenger, fatter people have larger feet, and the average American is far more overweight than the average European.
But uhmm, my feet are size 16 1/2.... a 53 Europe. :-}
It is in the genes, plus all the good food.
I'm a 19-year-old American and I have to wear a kid's size 6 or 6.5. Shoe size correlates with weight (I am underweight), and Americans are generally fatter than Europeans.
That would be the 'genes'
