Pain after circumcision?!

Question: The doctor told me to wait 24 hours before taking off the bandage, so I did, and then I washed the penis with regular water, put the antibiotic cream he gave me on it, and re-applied the gauze (new one of course), and now it stings and hurts like a B. What do I do? I tried taking a tylenol, and it isn't helping.

and I doubt tylenol will help this kind of pain.

You should have applied the cream to the new gauze and re-wrapped. That way, you don't touch anything either with the cream or with your finger.

Don't know how the circ was done, but usually, you leave the bandages on for a good 48 hours. If it was done freehand, more than likely a cauterizing tool was used, which burns and seals any blood vessels and cut skin. This could more than likely be what's hurting. Or, you may have an allergy to the cream. Call your doctor.

Most likely the antibiotic cream is whats causing the irritation. I'm surprised the Dr didn't give you something a little stronger for any pain.

I feel for you man, anyone that has to go through mutilation like that deserves a great deal of respect.
