Answers: How many sit ups should I do a day? Im 15.

It's not just about sit ups.

To get ripped abs, you need to do the following:
1. Eat healthily and include lots of protein in your diet. If you're eating too much junk food, fat or carbohydrates you might have nice abs, but they'll be hidden underneath a layer of fat, unfortunately.
2. Do cardio, especially running and swimming. This will burn lots of calories and make you lose any excess fat you may have, and will also aid in toning your stomach as these exercises utilise the core muscles.
3. Do weights. Many weight exercises not only use your arms or legs but also use your core muscles. Do squats, dead lifts and lateral pull downs.
4. Do other strength exercises, like push ups and plank-holds. Again, these use your core muscles.
5. Finally, do sit ups and crunches. Do sets of 20, maybe four times a day if you can handle it. If your back hurts, stop, because these exercises should use your core muscles, not your back.

You should do crunches, which means you don't go all the way back down, just to the point of the break on your waist heading back.
Do what don't cause any back pain, and to the point that your stomach muscles are not strained, they should recover from the exercise quickly. so if that 50 fine if its 100 great ect. over time you will be able to add more as the muscles build, if you over due it you lose as then you'll have hurt/damaged them and be idle for days recovering

sit ups will not give you a 6 pack, you willmore than likely damage your back. you are 15 and you have not really finished developing, be carefull, crunches are good but there are many muscles to develop for a 6 pack including back muscles,

THE BEST WAY is

to lie down on your back with your knees up...extend your arms paralell to the floor [arms should be out touching floor]
and carry weights...then lift yourself up...its hard!!

your arms should never bend..
