How do you get better abs?!


Question: Im 16, 5,9" and 140 pounds with 11% body fat. I work out regularly but my abs don't show very well, they only show in the right light and angle when there flexed. How can i get them to show up better?

I had the same problem for awhile. You have to eat great, not just good but great. My eatting regime is simple but it works great.

In the morning I'll eat egg whites or a low calorie breakfast bar, depending on if I feel lazy that morning, followed by a 8oz. glass of a protein shake mixed with non-fat milk. You can drink it with lowfat milk but I like to minimize my fat intake as much as possible. I eat around every 4 hours to increase my metabolism. I'll eat grilled chicken for lunch, then some fruit like an apple for a snack between lunch and dinner for the fiber to help digesting the food. For dinner I'll have grilled chicken again or fish. For a snack before bed I'll either eat a protien bar or more fruit. I'll drink another 8oz of my protein shake with nonfat milk. Be sure to drink ALOT, ALOT of water. Water also increases your metabolism, plus its no extra calorie intake. I usually drink around 100oz everyday but I drink ATLEAST 64oz. in a day. Everyone once in awhile I'll slip up, maybe like 1 day out of 2 weeks ill cheat and have pizza or soda or something unhealthy just so I dont lose my mind.

I work out religiously. My workout routine I target muscles...

Day 1 Chest and Arms
Day 2 Shoulders and Back
Day 3 Legs and Glutes
Day 4 Rest
Day 5 Chest and Arms
Day 6 Shoulders and Back
Day 7 Legs and Glutes
Day 8 Rest

And so on and so forth. You have to give your muscles time to rest and rebuild especially your abs. I do AB exercises everday I workout. Make sure to get plenty of sleep because your body needs to time to recover. I started this routine and my ABs started cutting through very quickly, I no longer needed the right light and angle to see them. I've been on this diet for a year now and I can say I absolutlely love summer time ;). If you want those perfect abs make sure you eat right, and STICK with it. Your not going to get them overnight, it takes time to get those washboard abs.

try not to do sit ups, they really mess up ur back. just do alot of crunches

Well, try doing crunches and always if possible do 10 mins Cardio-vascular exercises (Pre-Post Workout), this is gonna shorten the time to reach the goal. Also do Jogging and Swimming for best results.
