Should I eat lunch just before or just after my noon to 1pm workout?!

Question: I am finally going to drag my *** back into the weight room to shape up again, now that my boss has granted me an extra 1/2 hour for lunch and a nice little weight room just went up around the block from where I work.

Anyway, as it is my lunch break, I wanted to know what's the most benficial thing fro me to do...should i eat my lunch (i'm gonna pack small, "relatively" healthy lunches) right before or right after I work out?

I'd like answers to be given by people who actually know what their talking about in terms of exercise & health/weightlifting.

As a bonus, sub-question, what would be a good lunch to pack in terms of being a healthy (but also relatively filling, good-tasting, & cheap) workout lunch?

Thanks

Ive done some research on this for my own diet. I'm trying to build lean muscle and cut fat. My best findings say to eat something like a protein bar and slow burning carbs before a workout for energy to keep you going during the workout. Then have a protein shake and some simple burning carbs afterward to boost your insulin back up after your body depletes it during the workout. You want your body to keep running so that it will repair itself more efficiently. (You'r body goes into starve mode when your carbs/fuel is gone, this doesn't help) Keep your meals small. I usually have a protein shake about 45mins pre-workout with a whole grain bagel, maybe an apple too. Then post-workout is a double stacked white bread turkey/chicken/or roast beef sandwich with a protein shake.

it might sounds strange but eat afterwardz.

eating before causes cramps which puts stress on your body and normally dicriminates you from working out.

also eating before a hard work out may cause you to puke.
which is good and you'll see improvement faster.
but eventually it'll become metally addictive and evolve into bulemia.

eat after.

I would listen to DOMINIC. It is best to have some type of protein before your workout, I usually eat celery and peanut butter sticks. Eat your lunch after the work out to burn more calories and feed your body with more energy. Also remember to drink plenty of water to keep the soarness down and flush your system. I'm a Physical Therapist so I know a little about exercise.
