Question for the men please?!

Question: I'm mum to boys, the eldest is 10. I have just seen a question on erections and it got me thinking. At what age did you "experiment" on your own?
This is a serious question - I don't know whether I should have a personal birds and bees talk with him , as I'd imagine it could be frightening if he "experimented - with an end result" so to speak!

if your boy is 10 going on 15 then have the chat and if hes 10 and only 10 then leave the subject be. Your son may even find the CHAT embarrasing and an invasion of his own privacy. my parents left it till high school to tell me and by then i was willing to listen and talk to my friends about it !

well im 15 going on 16 and i started masterbaiting at like 10 or 11 lol thats just b/c no one told me (like my parnets). so my brother told me all this. at a really yuong age. to tell u the truth u really cant stop them from masterbaiteing its just nartural, but i would wait on that brids and the bees talk b/c then they might go frather and that wont be good

I think my brother was 7 when he discovered that if he played with his penis it went stiff. Certainly by ten he will have discovered that and will have some idea of what it is used for and probably a few schoolboy myths and misinformation will also have been given to him.

Good luck

Hi Mum
With your eldest lad just 10 - a good time to help him get ready for what's to come in the next few years. (He probably still listens to you now) Personally I was a late starter - nearly 15. However suggest you have a look at http://www.puberty101.com. Once you have seen this site you might decide it is a good one for your eldest to view - maybe not immediately but perhaps with next 12-18 months. BTW using astrology I can calculate when puberty will start for them. If you are interested you can email me if you wish.
All the best for the next 4-6 years!!

Boys start to experiment (masturbation)during Teens age between 11 to 20

I remember getting erections at about age 9 although I assume I probably had them before then but don't remember them, I didn't start masturbating until I was about 12 when a friend of mine a few months older than me told me about (and showed me !) how to do it. I was panicking and frightened the first time I had an ejaculation as I thought I might have broken something ! Plus there is the embarrassment of 'wet dreams ' as well ...

So it might be a good idea to give your son THE talk, there is plenty of literature and Internet info available that will help you too, and if I was you I would have no hesitation in reminding him that there is nothing wrong with masturbation, it's perfectly normal just as long as he's aware that there is a time and a place for everything !

Depends on the boy, on his surroundings, his school, his parenting, his peer group, lots of stuff.

I went to an all boys boarding school, so we were 'experimenting' like mad by his age or 11/12 yo. But that was down to the environment we were in.

A frank talk along the lines of "have you noticed any changes in your body ?" will probably help the lad out of a sticky situation (sorry) if he wants to ask but has nobody to consult.

If there is an adult male in his life, that might be an option, too. Aged 10, if my Mother had sat me down for a talk about erections, I'd have freaked !

Also it depends on your relationship with your son.

Maybe dropping some subtle hints, whilst out shopping or doing something else, will get him to open up and ask you some stuff. Be prepared for some awkward questions.

When I was ten, I asked the question at the family dinner table, "What's the difference between menstruation and masturbation ?"

Bless.....

I'm 22 and have small male cousins and they all play with their penises. They love to run around naked showing them and some even sleep with their hand in their shorts. I and most boys start masturbating with an end result, ejaculating, around 13 so you have some time left. They are 9, 11, and 13. The 13 is now masturbating with that end result so he love lots of privacy.
If I can help more email me.

If you are a single "mum", you should do your homework and discuss the male sexual response. Not from the female view-point either, females think so many things about males are "SO FUNNY". They don't need that. Respect for females is, or should be, part of the male sexual response. But males are so messed up by what the gals think-erections are made embarrassing-so "make a joke", masturbation is funny-so "make a joke". There are a lot of things males should know about-especially in these days-I told my son the straight of it. We had a great time when he was in 4th grade, and when the other kids were telling their Sci-Fi ideas, he quietly had Hoot after Hoot.
Males deserve to have it told to them in a loving yet scientifically done manner. Not clinically, but factually. If Dada can't you will have to, or if you feel crazy about it, get a family doctor to, really. I have found that religeous folks tend to get too uptight-your family doctor would be a good choice if you have one. Good luck-be brave, we are only animals, if you can explain how a puppy is made-this is a cake- walk!

9 years old. and its not that scary.. he'll figure it out. a one time birds and the bee talks not going to do it. these kids these days are smart with the computer and everything out there.
