You can get it done when you're old but it costs a lot (up to thousands) and although the actual operation is done under anaesthetic and isn't painful, recovery is very painful.

What are his reasons for wanting to be circumcised? If it's just that you pulled down too hard once, that's silly. You know now not to do it again. And it doesn't hurt nearly as much as a circumcision would!

Has he had any other foreskin problems? If not I would say circumcision would be unnecessary. Unless he really wants it, in which case make sure he researches it well.

i know an adult male that got it done and he was in pain for a few weeks
i don't know the details of the surgery its self thou

when i had mine i was 3. They just numb it. No sleep. I heard circumsizing it older, the doctor can make it look better than when a baby because they cut and done.

I can understand why he may be considering the procedure, but he's had his foreskin since he was born and surely nothing has changed. I think the pain of the surgery would make me vote no.

To have it done now is very painful. Leave it alone unless there is a medical problem.....

I've been circumcised since I was a newborn. However, when my son was born my wife & I decided not to have him circumcised. Back then it was recommended by the medical field but not so much today. Most places in the world to not follow this practice. Some do it for religious reasons. If it doesn't bother you then it shouldn't bother him. Personally, I wouldn't want to go through the pain/discomfort just so I could look like everyone else. I couldn't put my son through that. He may not enjoy sexual activity as much after the surgery. You can read more about that on the internet.

I was circumsized when I was 18, I wanted to get it done for various reasons. Of course it hurts, emotionally and physically. You cannot get an erection for at least a week (pain around stiches) and cannot masturbate or have any fun with your girlfriend for 3 weeks. And even after that, you have to be careful for a while. But you get lots of pills like Tylenol 3's which is sweet.

I like it a hell of a lot better being circumsized now though. It's easier to clean, I think it looks better, I last longer in bed, I have more confidence with girls (although this depends on the individual obviously).

They put you to sleep - general anesthetic; in Canada to get it done under the health plan you need a valid health reason to do it - not just becasue you want to. But in the states I'm pretty sure you can pay doctors to do it for you regardless of if you need it done because of pain or just because you want it done or whatever.

If your boyfriend wants it done, really, really look into it. Once it's gone, it's gone; and you obviously have to live with it so make sure he would be happy! But honestly, just because you pulled down too hard and it hurt once does not mean he should want to get it done..

If it hurt when you pulled down hard it sounds like he just needs to stretch his skin a little. It should not hurt and it could very well be from not enough stretching.
I think a circumcision would be a bad idea. most of the people answering are too young to know how much sensitivity is lost by being circumcised. The loss usually doesn't really show until a guy is in his middle ages.
If he wants to shorten his sex life get circumcised. If not do some simple stretches. There is a lot of info on the Internet about it. Do some research before doing something he will regret in his later years.

If there's no medical reason to get circumcised, then it's probably not a good idea for him (or you, really).

The foreskin has a lot of nerve endings that could contribute to sexual sensitivity (links 1, 2). Also, several studies suggest that the foreskin may be beneficial to the sexual satisfaction/pleasure of not only the guy, but the woman as well (links 3, 4, 5).

So as long as his foreskin's working normally, he keeps it clean (which is quick and easy), and he practices safe sex with you, there's no good reason to be circumcised. Next time, just be a little more gentle and it'll all be good.

Whyever would you want to have his foreskin cut off? If he stretches it a bit (and you can help him), it is so much more fun for both of you. And it looks so much nicer that way too.....just IMAO
