Having sore muscles means your getting some results. So don't look at it as a negative. To recover quickly after though:
-Warm up and stretch before workout.
-Drink plenty of water before, during and after workout. And the day after if you are sore.
-Stretch during, and after workout.
-Get 8-9 hours of sleep to speed up recovery.
-Massage sore muscles, and stretch next day.
-Shower with cold and hot water(alternate during shower) after workout.
-The muscle groups you worked out should always have at least 48 hours to recover.

next time, go to the gym and just stand there, or better still just sit, you'll feel beter the next day

thats actually good your muscle are like that, its only normal, its show you that you got a good work out, plus it was your first day so you will get used to exercising and it wont feel bad.

Before you leave for the gym do some situps, pushups and do some arm stretches, like raise them all they way up and back down and take your oppisite arm and pull it to your chest, next do some jumping jacks and leg streches, i assure you that if you stretch before you go you will feel better! Muscles are like caremel, they are hard and thick, but if you work them, warm up with stretches, you "warm" them up so they can pull easy, good luck!

drink lots of water before and after your workout. soak in a warm salt bath. Don't over-exert--work up your reps and weight very gradually so you don't tear muscle fibers. Stretch and warm up well before exercising. Get a massage to help work out the lactic acid in your tissues.

your working them well, perhaps you should warm up first with some good stretching and always after the session warm down, if your not sure what to do, ask the instructors.
Try to have plenty of fluids and take a nice warm shower after your home. Best if you dont go to bed soonafter your shower.
Try to build up your session, use lower workouts first and vary upper body, lower body, stamina and strength training over an hour.
Best if you go to the gym on alternate days and perhaps try a swim or cycling during the week along with a weekly gym session.
The pain is due to the build up of lactic acid in the muscles and it does take 24 hours before it breaks down.
Little and often works better for toning your body than long long gym sessions.

you cant

Its your first day it will happen, also try glutamine
