As for a lot of the inconsidereate people on here, if this is a serious question, try being a little more sympathetic.

OK- if you are a afraid of needles as I am, heres what will help. First, I talk to someone the whole time I am waiting in the waiting room. Ususally I call my bf or my best friend and just talk to keep my mind off of it. When the actual "shot time" comes, sit down, immediately look the other way, hold someones hand (maybe take someone with you) or hold the side of the table, take good deep breaths and if its just you and the nurse/doctor, talk to him/her about anything, just distract your mind. or if you like music, bring your Ipod or MP3 player and listen to your fave songs. Ask not to know when they are actually going to stick you. Just sit, keep looking the other way, breath deep, and when you feel the pinch (which you will feel-- but thats ALL it is is a little pinch/sting) keep taking deep breaths and focus hard on whatever else you were doing. The anticipation is by FAR the worst part-- at least for me. Once I am actually in the process of getting the needle, its not such a big deal b/c I know it'll be over really quick. Don't be afraid to say ouch, or cry, or squeeze something really hard, i sometimes do all 3 (although I don't cry all that much-- only for the real ouchie ones that burn like the Gardasil series-- but you are lucky to be a boy and not need those shots).

Good luck and be brave!

see a psychiatrist

face your fear.

You can grow a set and stop living in fear of psychopathic introverts.

what you do is when the needle is about 2 seconds from hitting the skin, take a deep breath and the pain will not occur. If its the needle, then you need to grow up and be a man.

i would think of it like this, i saw a kid on tv who got shot by a gun and was in critical condition. he is 9. they showed him in the hospital and he was happy and feeling better. if you cant take a little shot that barely even hurts, this boy is more of a man then you.

My friend had this same problem she couldnt even look at a shot without shaking and being scared. So heres what you do, bring and ipod or mp3 player and turn it really loud when the doctor is preparing the shot just turn up your music and focus on the wall oppisite of the doctor so you cant see anything. Tell your doctor to quickly do it, focus on the music you will feel the pinch but thats about as bad as it gets, when your done turn down your ipod to hear what your doctor has to say, and good luck!

I use to get nervous about getting shoots or taking blood what helped me was watching them take it and being able to know when it was going in so that there would be no surprise. Take a deep breath and know it will hurt but it does not hurt that much. If you can stomach looking try meditation. Concentrating on a spot and only thinking about your breathing . Good Luck!

Move to the UK where guns are illegal.

dude, i had this same question a week ago!

i was really sick last Sunday night, and my mom told me that she would take me to TJ so i can get shots so i can get better. Personally, i HATE shots!! (or, i used to)

when the moment of truth came, i just went into the room, and got my shot on my butt.. before i got the shot, i was getting really nervous and thinking it was going to be really painful!

but it wasn't. It actually wasn't that bad.

My advice i can give you to: just take the shot, don't look at it, take deep breaths, and think about something else.

Well, talk to someone else while you're getting a shot, but not the doctor so you won't have to look at them while they give you the shot, because for the most part, you should be distracted enough to not notice the needle at all, and it'll be done before you know it.
