Question: My boyfriend isn't circumsized, but I find sometimes there's a fishy smell coming from is foreskin. I know what causes this, sweating and maybe not cleaning under as well as necessary. (he's not...dirty at all) How can I hint towards this without coming right out and saying that it smells kinda funky sometimes?!

That is caused form using the bathroom and everyday sweat and does not mean that he is not clean. I'm not also and I do find it hard to keep clean while out in the field, but with the help baby wipes and water I'm find. He should wash it before you do your thing with him. wiping it after going to the bathroom also help keep the smell down. Most women's I know love uncircumcised guys. You may want to say let's take a shower before and you can wash him. I think that he will like that a lo, just say is he clean? He will get the point.
i didn't know if it was just my bf, but he is not circumcised either and I often notice a fishy odor as well. I am curious to read the other answers
the smell is because when he masterbates the semen has a odor and this is what you smell,i use body wash on mine in the shower,so maybe you can offer to wash his willy for him as a special treat and he wont mind that and you wont be hurting his feelings by saying he smells
Best to be honest and tell him the truth. The longer you wait, the harder it's going to be to do it. May be you could take a shower together and work your way to asking him if he's cleaning that area thoroughly enough. If he responds yes, may be tell him sometimes that it doesn't always seem to be truly clean.

If your close enough physically to your boyfriend to smell it then you must be close enough emotionally to him to be able to tell him straight out.

Does it happen all the time? if not, on the occasion that it does, maybe you could suggest taking a bath or shower together. That can be very erotic.
